Getting My Saitek X45 to work with GTA
IF someone already started a thread about controllers, I DO apologize. I'm not gonna dig through 93 pages LOL anyway...I hate driving with the keyboard. I usually end up screwing something up lol I'd prefer to use my Saitex X45 stick (the throttle I really don't need lol). BUT I can't get GTA (with LCPDFR installed) to see it. advice? :-)

GTA IV Fatal Error
Was your error something like this? I JUST researched the SMPA60 error and due to GOD Knows how many modifications I've made to GTA, I've uninstalled (which removed everything BUT save data (THANK GOD! LOL)), and am re-installing, to be followed by a re-install of LCPDFR, ELS (ESL? wow...I must be tired), and of course the only two vehicle mods I want. FireFighter767's Pierce Dash Ladder and Engine Pack and the Texas DPS State Trooper pack.

My current setup...
Well, I was on a budget (insurance claim), and I WAS gonna purchase a new copy of windows 7 but after talking to Microsoft, I found out that I can just RE-install my copy of XP Pro then use the upgrade copy of windows 7 home premium I have. I didn't know IF I could since it's a family pack and it's only for 3 systems, and I've already used it 3 times. AS for the PSU.....call it prior planning for future upgrades. I know my graphics card required a 350w minimum. I've got two PCI-E Slots, but won't be able to use one of them due to the fact that the fan on my graphics card is so big it covers up one of them, but I do plan at some point to add other components to it. At some point, I might upgrade to a bit larger motherboard. The one I have now is a TAD smaller than I'd like. Guess that's what I get for not doing my research lol I just took a peek inside and I actually swapped the SanDisk SSD for a PNY SSD. I should add when it comes to hardware, I'm not all that savvy on what's what. I call My guy up, tell him what I need, and he puts a package together for me.

~scratches head~ I'd say lemme grab a beer and think about it but I'm all outta beer heh Unfortunately, I dunno what to tell ya. Hopefully one of the experts will see this and be able to help!! Glad you made it this far, but I'm sorry I'm not able to help further. I wish you luck man! ONCE you do get it running, lemme know! :-) Perhaps we can do some multiplayer sometime. (when I'm not too busy playing Texas State Trooper LOL) I'm SamForrester on the social club as well as on Live :-) OH! and don't apologize for your "Bad English" as you put it. At least you're trying :)

My current setup...
Just purchased these parts back on the 2nd? 3rd? Idk....but regardless I HAVE NEW TOYS! LOL 650w PSU (don't know the exact details as I swapped the 350w I was gonna get out for this one last minute) Asus Motherboard P8H61-M LX3 R2.0 Core i7/i5/i3 LGA1155 H61 DDR3 SATA microATX Intel CPU BX80646I54430 Core i5-4430X Box 3.00Ghz 6MB LGA1150 4Core/4Threads 2 x Kingston Memory KVR16N11S8/4 4GB DDR3 1600 SRx8 Retail Seagate HDD ST3000DM001 Barracuda 64MB 3TB SATA III 6Gb/s 7200rpm Bare Drive ^ not quite using this one yet. got some minor details to work out first.... SanDisk SSD SD6SB1M-128G-1022i 128GB x110 2.5inch SATA III Brown Box ^ Main drive as for the graphics card.....I only know that it's a 2gb AMD Radeon HD 6600 Series, and that I got two monitors hooked to it. 1 via VGA 1 via DVI (main monitor) I'm using my old C drive, a 1tb Seagate as an external in an enclosure that can hold up to 2 3.5" hard drives, along with another 1tb external drive duct taped (yes, I'm one of those! LOL) to the side of my case, is a 4 port USB hub which, along with the 2 front USB ports on my case gives me a total of 9 ports (you could say 10, BUT technically, you're "losing" a port to the hub). I actually traded a 1gb graphics card I had for the 2gb one. IN Total, I spent about $760 including shipping. I kept my old case and dvd burner. (also had to get a mounting kit for the SSD drive) all in all, it's a pretty good system. I'm able to run IMVU on one screen and keep an eye on two rooms at once, WHILE running GTA IV w/ no problems at all. ONLY complaint I have is I CAN'T figure out how the HELL to get My damn joystick to work with the game. I've got a Saitek X45 (I'd really only use the stick. wouldn't use the throttle I don't think..). I really think being able to use that would improve My driving lol

Question about Modded Police cars
I had a similar question. I got some LAPD Car mods BUT the lights weren't flashing, much less lighting up. same for the Fire Engine & Ladder Truck (though tech calling it Ladder Truck IS redundant but ya lol). Same thing? Get ELS?

Installation Error
OK, I got this covered! :-) Been through this! :-) STEP ONE: read this thread: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> HOWEVER, that is NOT guaranteed to work, SO what you do is MOVE the RockStar Games folder to your desktop (if you have more than one game installed, then just move GTA IV). RIGHT click the folder, untick the Read Only properties box, and click ok (or apply but ok is faster). then, move the folder back to the rockstar games folder. Run the installer as admin. That should take care of your problem.
