What the hell is the mic clipping onto

Is there anyway to move the mic up onto the shoulder pad thingy? That way it isn't just magically sitting on the front of the shirt.

The mic works great with short sleeves, we are already doing tons of belt so we can have metal buckles and the plastics one, with and without guns and with without baton and now we have two x2 all these belts to put the mic higher for the long sleeves ? 

Instead of having 8 belts we would have to make 16!
