NickieB Members January 19, 201412 yr Author stats Dat Whelen ION setup! It Looks great. Thanks buddy, I love that setup also so I figured it was a good time to use it. Do you like the bar inside the rear window? It would be a TA but I'm not sure if I like it or if it looks alright with the IONs. (Its a Code 3 Commandstik) '>

With the bar I think you should take it out just because those SUVs usually have no bar when the Ions are there. Great job though, keep us updated.
CG Blaze Members January 19, 201412 yr Author stats I kind of agree, a TA isn't a necessity for every car. But it's not distracting, as it's so slim. I'm neither here nor there on it. I too love the ION setup btw.
c13 Friends of LSPDFR January 19, 201412 yr Author stats I agree on removing the TA. Or it could be put on the bottom of the rear window. Having it there just seems unnecessary and like it would not get the full effect.

Having it there just seems unnecessary and like it would not get the full effect. Yeah that's what I was thinking. With it being so close to the ions I don't think it will look good. There isn't proper mounting for it on the bottom of the window. I've tested light sticks there on other builds and it doesn't look good and they have to be fairly skinny to fit. I'll just remove it and add some other lights in another area on there rear. Thanks for the input guys, I'm going to remove it
Mustu Members January 19, 201412 yr Author stats That is so good! You can still have something mapped to the secondary lights. Make the indicators flash or something. Also, did you scratch model that Explorer?
EFox Members January 19, 201412 yr Author stats What if you put two smaller LED modules on the bottom of the rear windshield and map them to an amber texture?
NickieB Members January 20, 201412 yr Author stats What if you put two smaller LED modules on the bottom of the rear windshield and map them to an amber texture? Remember when I was making the 21TR explorer and I showed you a option with 2 TIR3s in the lower part of the windshield? We both agreed it didn't look right. I can whip it up, it would only take a second, and I'll PM you the pics again and we can talk more, but that is a option. Like the other guy said though, if I eliminate the TA then I have the extra ELS spots for other lighting options and I like that idea too. Mutzu - no, it's Kevin's Explorer with a few small tweaks of my own
EFox Members January 20, 201412 yr Author stats I wonder if you could even do something mounted on the lift gate. Not sure though, we'll have to see what looks disgusting lol.

c13 Friends of LSPDFR January 20, 201412 yr Author stats I'd prefer to see 2 LEDs on the license plate like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/58519602@N07/8563310332/ Another option that would be unique is having 2 LEDs vertically on each side of the license plate, with both reds flashing at a separate time than the blues. I saw this on one of my state's highway patrol explorers once. Here's an example: B License R R Plate B

Those are Whelen LINZ6's in the Flickr photo. As for the second suggestion - are you saying use like Whelen Vertex's?

As for the second suggestion - are you saying use like Whelen Vertex's? Vertexes are kinda small, and I'm pretty sure I saw LINZ6's on the KHP Explorer. But this was 6 months ago, so I could be wrong. I just know they were too big to be vertexes

Lazerus Members January 21, 201412 yr Author stats License plate lights, id love to see on this model. But you already know I've always loved when you added them to your models Nick. Id also like to see some side lighting as well. Maybe some in the back windows or along the bottom skirting, similar to what we see on some Tahoe models on the running boards.. just some ideas
