Crashing on Startup

Featured Replies

Hey folks

Fresh installed GTA 5 twice today. First time I went ahead and threw on all the typical mods/plugins etc. that I use all at once, started the game and crashed. So I just used the backed up fresh install version of GTA 5, no modifications whatsoever, game runs just fine.

I have currently installed RagePluginHook, LSPDFR, ELS, Scripthook V, and the Simple Native Trainer. I have made a mods folder, copied the folders titled "update", "x64", and "x64e.rpf". These are the only modifications made to the game so far, and at this point, I crash on the loading screen. I will post my crash report below, though I am unsure of what I can do to fix from here. Any help greatly appreciated.

Rename your ELS folder to _ELS and mods to _mods.

Hey there!

Changing this did work. After getting GTA to run smoothly with Rage, I went ahead and installed mods to the game. I am now crashing on the loading screen after starting up. I have changed mods folder to _mods and I still crash at the same time.

I have no idea what I keep messing up.

Did you by any chance install anything into your GTAV vanilla folder?

Verify your files and rename the LSPDFR folder in /Plugins to _LSPDFR.

I do all of the vehicle, sound, and visual mods in the mods folder. In the main directory I have installed the Heap Adjuster, Package Limit Adjuster, Simple Trainer, Player Location Display, and ELS.

Upon changing the name of the LSPDFR folder in /Plugins to _LSPDFR, I have not crashed.

I had _lspdfr in plugins and just now went to change my _mods to mods again, still crashed with the folder named mods.

I think I may attempt a fresh install again tomorrow and install everything 1 by 1 to find the real source of the problem.
