Modeling from scratch

Well, i really can't model for sht and i really don't understand the tutorial on here, do you absolutely NEED 3DSMAX, or can i just model from scratch in Zmodeler? i was thinking of a small project that NO ONE has made yet, so i'm going to try my hand and from-scratch-modeling, any tips would be appreciated!

Have you searched around for the model you've said nobody has made? Perhaps there is an unlocked model from previous GTA games like Vice City or San Andreas?

You can model with Zmodeler although most modelers use 3ds Max because there are tons and tons of tutorials and it is far more easier to use. Whether you're doing simple parts like an antenna or more advanced modeling like the entire vehicle, 3ds Max is the way to go imo. You can buy a license for 3ds Max on Ebay for less then the cost of Zmodeler actually just something to keep in mind.

How much would a license cost for 3DS Max? and how much does the program cost? i want to model the whole vehicle, if you say it would be easier to do with 3DS Max i will take your word for it.

And I'll repeat you again, if you haven't done it yet, ask Chasez for permission to use his GMC Savanna; if he let you using it, you'd have to just edit it, instead of modeling from scratch, that's something that doesn't learn in two days.

Anyway, whatever you do, good luck with it, I'd also love to see one of these

Around $35-$40. It can be a pita at times, but when you can actually start making progress it's really awesome! Because there are so many videos and support threads I think it's a no brainer, but to each their own....

I would ask him but i really don't know how to get ahold of him, and since he doesn't know me by even speaking with me, just asking out of the blue, wouldn't be right and i doubt he'd give it too me.

If you are a student, 3DS Max is free:

I don't think Chasez generally gives permission to his models. You can find him on gtaforums. Also as mentioned since the model is from Driver you should be able to find it ripped from the game somewhere or maybe someone kind enough to do it for you idk.

I emailed him, he has his own site with all of his mods, i didn't want to ask just because of what you said strike, cause someone stole it, i have posted topics about it before, but sadly, no one would do it, so i'm best off too just learn myself.

and strike, i'm not a student, so i will have to buy it.

also, does anyone know of a good reliable site to buy 3D Models?
