LSPD:FR Mod Bundle???

Featured Replies

Spoiler

I have had this thought for a while. A mod in which includes all of the mods i have installed for the ultimate LSPD:FR experience. I have been able to reach a stable game that run quite well with the mods enabled. I want to do this as it will allow new players quickly get into the game and let experienced players feel more immersed in the world.

The way I plan to create this:

  • Place all mods into a compressed file
  • Upload the file to LSPDFR.com but have the download link to a file sharing site (LSPD:FR lets a limit on how big the files can be.)
  • To install it should be a drag and drop.

Please let me know how you feel about this. If released i will credit all the mod developers and creators. Again let me know how this may go down.

There have been similar suggestions in the past, but there are quite a few challenges to overcome. First, not everyone wants to have the same mods. Then you need to keep them updated and also get permission of the authors to redistribute them. It also makes it much harder for mod authors to track where and how their mods are used as well as getting feedback on them. I feel like your best bet is to write a detailed guide on how you got your game so stable for other people, so they can follow your instructions but still pick out what they want.

Please do not PM me unless really necessary (knowing you helps). If you think you need my attention in a topic, tag me.

I don't like this idea, for one reason:

As LMS stated, if you were able to get your game to run smoothly with certain mods, it's best to compile a modlist and share that - this'll let people pick and choose what mods they run, as well as add their own if they want.

In addition, let's say I have a file that for some reason I decide I don't want publicly available. If it's in someone else's modpacks, now I have to track down the modpacks and have them remove the mod, taking more time and effort out of my day when if it's just a modlist I can easily have it de-listed. And if the modpack author doesn't and I still want it removed, it opens a WORLD of legal headache to something that really shouldn't have it.
