So I occasionally encounter this problem when I have to start fresh with a clean download of GTA and re-install all of my LSPDFR stuff. When I'm adding in Radiance V (visualsettings.meta) or changing my Vehicle.meta file to get rid of the window tint and change the handling IDs of vehicles, I get an error of "ERR-FIL-PACK-3". The game won't crash, it'll get continue to the RAGE Hook Plugin loading screen but just sits on that until I press 'okay' and then it force quits.

 

 If I delete the mods folder, it runs fine. If I make the changes in the mods folder, and then replace it with my backup of the file from the main folder, it still won't work. Any solutions? For the Vehicle.meta I'm simply changing the Handling ID for a few vehicles to "STANIER", "GRESLEY", AND "BUFFALO2" and changing the window tint to  "0x00FFFFFF".

 

Like I said, this only happens occasionally when I do a clean download, and usually the only solution is to delete everything and do another clean download in hopes that whatever problem occurs is fixed. Any ideas? Thanks!

 

Do you use a gameconfig? When not, try to use one. (Goggle for it) 🙂

Are you changing them to handling entries from the base game? The game will crash if you try to change things like handling or layouts of a base vehicle to ones that were added in a DLC.

No, I'm changing the handling entries from the mods folder. The only entries I'm changing are Police2, Police3, FBI2, Sheriff2, PoliceOld1, PoliceOld2, and Police4, and even then I'm only changing the Handling ID to STANIER, GRESLEY, or BUFFALO2 and just replacing the dark tint with the clear. 

 

*EDIT: I'm also only editing the vehicle.meta file, and not the handling.meta. Just changing the Handling ID for the vehicle (such as Police to STANIER) 

 

*UPDATE: Downloaded this gameconfig (https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-5-gameconfig-300-cars) and all of the assets recomended and still getting the ERR_FIL_PAK_3 error
