FiveM LSPDFR in the future?

Featured Replies

Hello, So right now the two biggest police simulators in the world are FiveM for a more real unpredictable human interaction version, and LSPDFR which is also pretty good, but in FiveM you can do so much more and it's easier to install things. But in LSPDFR you can do more policing wise with AIs so will there ever be a merge so we can have the best in both worlds?

No, it's been stated in the past that LSPDFR has no intentions being ported over to FiveM.

Honestly, if it were possible to do something like LSPDFR in FiveM's model, it would have already been done by some server developer with experience with FiveM already.

A lot of what LSPDFR achieves (and especially in 0.4) depends on game hooks that aren't possible in the FiveM security model.

Although there is a lot of talk on FiveM being open-source, it's platform isn't fully open since the lead developer NTAuthority left after being sued by Rockstar.

Their license wouldn't permit us to distribute our own downloadable version, for example, so any changes that we made to their core code to support LSPDFR would have to be agreed and merged mainline. Any server we create would be at the behest of them, and any of our players could be banned from the platform without us having any control over it.

All in all, it doesn't look like it's a worthwhile time investment -- and this is even ignoring the possible legal issues.

It's possible we could do something with the NTAuthority-era MIT licensed code though, but this isn't something you should expect anytime soon. Especially with how aggressively Rockstar went after him for that.

For future reference, the forum has a search bar that you can use to see if this topic has been discussed before - which it has, many of times.  Sam has even stated multiplayer will never happen. (it's in one of the posts linked below)
