Is it the sirens or a siren/speaker combo thing. Because some of the ones we use in Aus (at-least my part) are EU like and you can only hear it as it is coming towards you. once the Ambulance/police car passes you can barely hear it. Maybe this is what they are trying to do.

They did mention Noise Pollution which would be a big thing at kind of all times in the day. Atleast, in my experience I wouldn't want to be going to the shop and constantly hearing the monotonous and scary sounding siren passing the shop every 2 minutes. The combo would be really nice, however, as it wouldn't pollute the noise (from my experience. fyi im from scotland). Just my thoughts. 

I love the NYPD siren. I don't want it to go 😞 

To be honest, european syrens are ugly as f***. Here in italy they are really unpleasant and too noisy, not to mention ugly.

I think the US are the best ones. It's a shame if they're going to change them in NYC

The old German Sirens also sounds Good

EU sirens aren't meant to be "beautiful" but to be practical. Unlike US sirens, two tone EU sirens make it extremely easy for people and drivers to locate the source of the sound as well as knowing if it moves towards or away of them.

If they will use Polish-Made sirens, it will be fine. ZURA PS100R is so beautiful!

Honestly so dumb. They say noise pollution, but the sirens need to be loud for the drivers and pedestrians to hear.
