2020 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility!

Featured Replies

Well ladies and gentleman, here it is. The brand new 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility! I know this was announced a little while ago, but, thoughts on this?

Is it just me or does it look incredibly short on its wheels? Doesn't look like it could endure off-road treatment like a proper SUV would.

While on the other side, it looks long-wheel-based as fuck, which would make policing in cities more annoying if needing to access narrow streets or sharp corners.

So in general it doesn't seem to fit for any environment.

Thats a good point, I 100% agree with you on how it’s super long. Definitely longer than any other SUV made by ford, and not sure if it will handle well in cities for sure. I guess we’ll see

Not a fan of the wireless tech they are putting into it, Is it proprietary? After the first 2 years can a department integrate into their own system so they dont have to keep paying Ford to use it?

I mean, Its sounds like good tech, but not good if the department needs to keep paying for it.
