Modding DLV V Crashes

So I just tried to install Modding DLV V and a random add-on car to test it, and everytime the game crashes.  I added the required meta files to the proper meta files inside of the modding folder.  I make sure the car model files inside of modding. Yet the game still crashes during boot-up.

If you have both of these in the proper locations, and it's still crashing, you may have incorrectly written the metas. That's typically what the problem is.

I'm not very good with metas, so if that happens to be your problem, reach out to someone who's good with addons.

Well, I finally got the mod to work and I forgot a slash when assigning the audioNameHash, so that solves the issue of it crashing after one car. Now it crashes after I added three vehicles. I tried putting in a config for the unlimited add-on cars, but it still crashes after trying to add the fourth car. I also refer back to the other three metas I have done for the other cars, and they were no significant differences between them.

Sorry for the long reply but the snipping tool couldn't capture the full line. I only have one Mod DLC Pack, and I haven't installed anything on the others.  I have been able to add three police cars but whenever I add a fourth car, the game crashes as it's trying to load up the game.

Thanks for the advice. I thought about it for a second but didn't know if I could pin the files on here or not. Also, I would try to add a fourth car, because these metas are without the fourth car added.

The first thing that jumps out at me when I look at the vehicles meta is the lack of entries specifying the vehicle interior type -  You should probably add that; although it does not result in a game crash for me.

 

The first thing I see when looking at your carvariations meta is how excessively long the entries are. I highly recommend using this instead:

Secondly, which cars are you adding to the game?

 

It's my understanding that when you add more than three cars the game will crash - Please attach the vehicle/carvariation text for those as well.

Secondly, which cars are you adding to the game?

 

It's my understanding that when you add more than three cars the game will crash - Please attach the vehicle/carvariation text for those as well.

Sorry for the long wait time. I had to work last night and just woke up. So I added a fourth car using your carvariations line and it still crashes

Thanks...If you have a gameconfig file that you're using, I would much appreciate you letting me know. I think that may be the cause of my issue, but I am not 100% sure.

It does actually. Which is why I suspected it to be something the gameconfig file. I tried another one from the linked that's in the readme file, but it still crashed during the load up screen. I'm gonna try the one that you recommended. 

Also when you say you got your gameconfig file from RDE. Was it from the mod build or did your version come with a gameconfig file?

I actually have RDE installed, but you can extract the gameconfig from the OIV with 7-Zip if you don’t want to install RDE. 

 

Keep in in mind that if you do want to actually install RDE, YOU NEED TO MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR VANILLA UPDATE.RPF. The installer will install RDE into your mods folder update.rpf AND INTO YOUR VANILLA UPDATE.RPF AS WELL.

I didn't see any file that would allow me to open with 7zip. I honestly probably making this a better issue then it should be lol
