GTA shuts down due to downloading the 1.0.7.0 patch!

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have an original copy of GTA IV bought in stores a couple of days ago, I bought it for PC after seeing videos of the LCPD mod. I installed GTA and it worked fine, I then went to install the LCPD mod and after doing so the game didnt load up. I looked around on the internet (including this site) and found that I had to download the 1.0.7.0 patch to make this problem work. So obviously I did, installing it was successful, it got rid of social club as I choose I didn't want it any more.

Heres my problem,

When I load up the game it goes to the screen where you choose if you want to play GTA IV or lost and dammed, etc. After I click to play GTA IV the games loads fine, I can play the game, walk around as Niko, the gameplays fine etc, then after 2 minutes the game goes black and just shuts down? :S

Any idea of what happening?

I appreciate any answers, thank you:)

any idea how much? and also I have been looking around, and some other guy had the same problem as me and also had a single core up, however the people posting said that he had to downgrade his 1.0.70 update to 1.0.40 or summat?, which will allow him to play the LCPD mod and is also the best patch for mods, any idea what that is about? haha
