@KallusI just started having this same problem today.  Yesterday the game worked fine, today it crashes on the loading screen.  I didn't change anything and the only thing that happened between yesterday and today was Windows updated, but that shouldn't have caused any issues.  So i'm stumped...

Looking at the history, it was an security update for Adobe Flash Player and Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64

Double check your Gaming tab and make sure all of that is disabled.

Because it was working yesterday, and the only thing that happened was a windows update, I'm still inclined to believe it's related to that.  However, lets try one more thing:  Rename your mods folder to _mods

This implies either something in your mods folder is the problem, or your PC is now blocking the mods folder.   Rename the mods folder back to just mods

 

Try running Rage as admin.

At this point, it's hard to determine what the actual problem is.  If it's your computer blocking something inside the mods folder, or if one of your mods broke and is causing the issue.  Add GTA V as an exception in your anti virus.

I tried that last night and still got the crash.  I think I'm going to have to go through my mods folder and see if I can figure it out.

The weird thing is how it worked one day and not the nest.  I wish it happened after I changed something so I knew where to start.  lol

That's one of the most frustrating things about modding.  To be honest there's been a few days where I've almost thrown this thing out the window and quit modding.  It will randomly break, sometimes for no reason at all.
