GTA V Dispatch Audio

Featured Replies

Hi Community,

I am requesting some information on locating the dispatch scanner tones for the GTA V base game, specifically the radio mic click on/off, and the dispatch call tones. I checked the POLICE_SCANNER.rpf in OpenIV, but I don't see anything for the scanner tones. if LSPDFR has them included for the mod, then the developers must have located it somewhere in the base audio files.

Any ideas where I can find them so i can change them out and hear realistic LAPD tones in the vanilla squad cars, and not being played through the LSPDFR mod ?

Thank you.

After a hour of digging around the files, I think I've found which .awc file you should look in. Head to "RESIDENT.rpf>frontend.awc" and click on the files that are "16,000 Hz" because those are the police scanner beeps and various noises that play in the game. I don't think your "DISPATCH_INTRO_01" is in there though, however, this file is a start.

Hope this info is helpful to you!

"Please, put it in park, will ya?" "LSPD, see the lights, pullover." "Stop the vehicle, we need to have a little chat!" "Get in the car and keep your mouth shut." "You have the right to absolutely nothing." "The damn gun is jammed!"

Thanks for the lead. I checked them out and it does contain most of the radio beeps and clicks, but yeah, not the prime meat that I am looking for which is the Dispatch intro audio files.

Sorry for dragging up this old topic but has anybody been able to locate these scanner intro/outro files as used by the base game?

I am trying to "mute" the background in game scanner so you only hear the radio audio from LSPDFR, callout packs or mods. Then can use something like More Radio Chatter / xScanner or AmbientAI callouts without the jibber jabber in the background behind tire radio audio.

I have managed to mute all audio files in POLICE_SCANNER.rpf and have tried to do the same for any radio related files in the RESIDENT.rpf --> frontend.awc but these latter ones do not seem to be the ones used by the police scanner. So I have managed to get rid of the voice audio, but not the intro / outro beeps, tones and squelches.
