When it comes to demonitize videos because they're not "advertisement friendly" and all that bullshit, Youtube can be pretty fast. When it comes to actually moderate harmful content? Not so much.

The videos are ...well lets put it like this, the thumbnail for the second video is quite disturbing and is pure clickbait.  However, this isn't really news.  Your source is a subreddit, which frankly, Reddit's community is a joke.  There are some very disturbing and weird Youtube videos, but this seems like all smoke and no fire.  Furthermore, while going to a certain video can spark suggested videos which include these weird ones, most of the time you have to originally click on some weird video to start seeing the others or be searching for the weird videos.  I use Youtube every single day, all day as my primary TV source, and not once when watching a Mario Kart vid, Space Engineers, LSPDFR, etc have I been recommended to some weird ass video.

Finally, regarding the last picture, that is 100% an attack against Youtube.

Switch away from 'Youtube Kids' if possible, there are other streaming services like Netflix, Hulu and PBS.

Don't let your kids use Youtube or any of its platforms, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Being safe is, oh, I don't know, MONITORING YOUR CHILDREN ONLINE and ACTUALLY SITTING DOWN WITH THEM AND NOT LEAVING A CHILD UNATTENDED ON THE INTERNET.

If your child has a Youtube account, check their history and talk to them if they have accidentally watched any of these videos.

Few things here.

a)  Assuming the parent is computer illiterate, do you really think they know how to find said history?

b) Depending on how tech savvy the child is, they could easily go and erase browser and Youtube history.

c) "Accidentally" implies a window popped up with autoplay on, or a virus/maleware hijacked the url you were trying to go to and sent you to a bad site.  Whether they understand the video's title or not, they consciously clicked on it.

I need donations to help fund my food addiction. DM for details 😂

Those Videos must be reported, be cuz it' dangerous for the Kids and they get traumatized. And it's not a Attack against Youtube, be cuz it help Youtube to draw attention on it to those Jerks who responsible for the Elsagate. You don't like Reddit, but the Users did a great Job and started a good Investigation about the Elsagate

This is disgusting. It's not funny, it's stupid and retarded. Why someone would even try to upload inappropriate videos and attempt to reach children is completely beyond my capacity of thinking. The videos need to be taken down immediately. I don't see how YouTube isn't capable of ensuring that these videos aren't even uploaded in the first place. It's their own damned website. Get some freaking control.

I wouldn't say they "must be reported."  Furthermore, a lot of things in life traumatize children, you don't see warnings about literally everything.  Falling can traumatize a child, so where's the PSA's about falling?

Yes, lets blame Youtube for an impossible task of "if; video targetschildren deny upload".  You can't have a system that reads a video and says "Yeah, targets children."  You also can't add in keywords such as "children" because then Youtube employees have to look at literally thousands of newly uploaded videos that have that tag.  Again, this can easily be solved if parents stop being lazy and throwing their child in front of the computer and going "entertain yourself while mommy goes and drinks."   This technology era is amazing in most aspects, but one of those aspects it's negative for is parenting.  It's so easy now for parents to barely pay attention to their child and just give them a computer.

Yes, that's exactly what we should do. Blame YouTube for failing to moderate its own website and not implementing some sort of system that they need to figure out in order to prevent this from happening on their website. How the hell don't you have control of your own website? That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all Thanksgiving. If YouTube employees need to look at thousands of videos, then that's what they need to do. It really isn't that hard. I'm sure that there are millions of people that wouldn't mind getting paid to moderate videos. If people are willing to moderate websites for free and put forth countless hours of their own time to keep it peaceful, I guarantee you that there are plenty of people that'll do it for a paycheck. It's really not that hard. When it comes to videos uploaded for children, add a tougher filter. If the video is tagged for children, it should be filtered anyway. It's the same thing as having kids channels on TV, or a kids section at a library, or a kitty pool at the waterpark. It keeps the children away from the adults and the adult content. If YouTube isn't capable of doing something as simple as that and moderating it... jeez.

Yeah man, it's stupid and foolish. If Yahoo Answers is able to be moderated, then a small portion of uploaded YouTube videos should be able to be moderated. I'm sure there are many more questions on Yahoo than videos on YouTube.

You're grossly underestimating how many videos are uploaded per day.  You're also underestimating the task of moderation.  Have you ever been a staff member for a site like Youtube or a big site?  LCPDFR is the second most active forum I've ever moderated for.  The first one was almost 10 years ago and had far too many new posts daily.  It is not easy in the slightest to moderate a very active site, even if you do have help.  Youtube is the most popular video sharing site, even if you hire on a lot of people, you're still not going to get the result that you want.  Can you imagine how many people they'd have to hire, and how many people they'd have to pay just to say "yes" or "no" to whether a video is child friendly or not?  No one in their right mind wants to do that.  From a business perspective, that is a waste of money.

Again, this is not Youtube's fault.  Youtube is indeed a site meant for everyone, but it's not meant for some 6 year old unattended.  The very problem we're debating about could be solved if parents monitored their children's online presence.  Do you think a parent is going to look at a weird video title with their kid and think 'yeah, lets click that!'?  Stop blaming Youtube for failure parenting.  If you have a little child, don't let them use the internet unattended.  That is bad parenting and stupid.

The key word here is "work" not "volunteer". It wouldn't be a volunteer team like we have here, it'd be a paid team whose job it is to moderate. If they suck at what they do, get rid of them and hire others. A simple solution to a small problem.  I know a lot of people that wouldn't have any issue getting paid to sit in front of a computer screen and moderate YouTube videos. I'm sure there are millions of people worldwide that wouldn't have any issue doing that. Disabled vets, retired elderly, bored gamers, anyone really. I know I would, I've got plenty of time in the barracks. And you're trying to tell me that a company estimated to be worth about $40 billion would be wasting money paying moderators just a little bit to keep trash out of the kid's section? From a business perspective, I'd say that it's not a waste of money at all because you're improving the quality of the filtering for your own users. That's a subjective perspective, not a business perspective. Therefore, whether or not it's a waste of money is a matter of opinion and needs to be determined by the financial section of YouTube, not by us. I'm also for certain that there are plenty of people that would take pleasure in moderating videos intended for children, especially if they have children of their own or happen to teach children in a learning environment.

I don't think it's entirely accurate to suggest that the problem is simply a lack of good parenting. That's not always the case. You're putting the blame on the parents which is giving off the implication that you're perfectly content with this content existing. I don't see why you wouldn't just take "common sense" measures to help reduce the content in the first place. Blaming parents isn't going to solve anything, and kids are still going to see fucked up content. You also have YouTube TELLING users that the kids area is safe for children.
