LSPDFR 60fps down to 35-40

Featured Replies

I have a fresh install of GTA V with LSPDFR installed. I also cleaned out my video drivers and installed the latest ones (388.13) and when I go on duty and am in the city, my FPS dives from a solid 60fps down to 35 - 40. Most things are on High / Ultra and MSAA is OFF. I have a GTX 970 and the memory use is like half, so plenty of extra VRAM there.

specs:

i5-4690k

GTX 970

16GB DDR4 memory

Here is a screenshot of the mods I have installed. I'm not sure if this is considered too many when it comes to the scope of LSPDFR. Some may run 10 times as many as I do, some might say  have an insane amount, I'm not sure.

UPDATE: It appears that Keep Calm might be the problem here. i removed it and my FPS went back up to 60, but still dipping into the 50's here and there. I wouldn't have thought that mod would be that heavy. I'm not a modder, but I am a programmer so I understand syntax, parameters, and values. Again I don't know the API available to modders but keep calm seems like it would just be a simple PanicWhenGunFire = False kind of thing. That's pseudo code, I'm sure PanicWhenGunFire is not an actual parameter, just giving an example. But I could be wrong.

You'll just have to keep removing mods until you figure out the thing that causes it. Some LSPDFR plugins are terribly optimized.

You're pretty much spot on. A lot of plugins and callouts will need to do stuff per frame or per game tick. In order to do this some might call natives every tick, as a simple explanation, the more mods you add the more this happens, and if this is done excessively, or to natives which are particularly highly obfuscated, this can cause the game to slow down.

Hi based on what I have read on Youtube LSPDFR channels and what I have experienced personally the plugin that drops FPS the most is it's come down to Arrest Manager, but hey what's LSPDFR without Arrest Manager? It pretty much takes the fun reality out of it without it, the solution I have read is either to be able to handle the drop which again is no fun, or beef up the system with a top notch GPU or  SLI or Crossfire and that's cost prohibitive for a lot of us. Also if you stream you will find that for some reason OBS will also drop FPS so you have the plugin and OBS killing FPS, there is no easy answer as I was struggling with this last night on my stream, as for streaming and or recording goes if you don't use OBS and you have AMD Relive or an Nvidia stream program equivalent it shouldn't drop FPS, but yeah this is a big issue for a lot of us and leaves everyone wondering if there is any way to get around it?

Good luck with it.

I don't stream or record content, so that's not really an issue for me. I've also been doing extensive reading on the issue for possible fixes and I guess it just gets worse and worse the more MP content they keep adding to the Online game, which makes sense. I did find a few Nvidia control panel settings that did seem to fix the problem almost completely, I only drop to about 55fps (from 60) once in a while now, which is much better than the 30 - 45 I was talking about earlier. I'll post the settings I use here in case it helps anyone else in the future.

Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Select gta5.exe

Maximum pre-rendered frames: 1

Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance

Threaded Optimization: On

Triple Buffering: On

Vertical Sync(vsync): On (Turn it off inside the game if you turn it on inside Nvidia control panel)

*Still experimenting and Adaptive Vertical Sync may help some folks as well, I'm not sure which one works best for me yet, same with Threaded Optimization, might work best when turned "off" for some folk.
