So after a while of playing GTA last night I get that error. Reboot and its fine but again after a while I get it again. I haven't modified any of the "core" files if you know what I mean, only installed a few vehicles. What should I do?

Can anyone help? Have tried verifying game cache but all that does is remove my audio files.

ERROR GEN ZLIB 2

Failed ZLIB call reboot and restart game

 

I get it on certain points of the map like near the La Mesa PD and on some certain freeways as well as in some car chases and after 20-30 minuets. All game files verfied.

Taken from the Rockstar support page, it indicates corrupt data, and is advised to verify integrity or reinstall.  Did you install in the vanilla game files?

No all in mods folder. I just can't see how this would suddenly happen just after nothing.

 

I also tried to use a backup of GTA and the same thing happens ;-/ its not the biggest deal in the world but still quite frustrating

Try renaming your mods folder to _mods and load into the game.  Does it work now?

I'll try, seems a weird solution but I' ll give it  ag o.

Looks like you've installed something incorrectly or a mod is corrupt. You'll need to install mods one by one to figure out the problematic mod.

Mind you having gone to the same area again with mods it seems to work now, have to test out other mods, but literally the only mods I installed were some ELS files for a police van and the police van. Just seems unlikely to me it would cause so many problems.

Now its not zlib its just a regular game crash

Just installing a vehicle in the mods folder shouldn't cause this.  I install vehicles regularly as standalones and never have this.  I'm sorry say, but you must've done something else

I recently installed a gun scope which I modified to go in a different slot? Could that be it? There is absolutely nothing I have installed wrongly. I've checked the entire thing.

Could a gun pack cause it? Installed in mods but has add on weapons

Its not the gun sounds

It could be.  Try removing it.

I did, replaced the gun pack, i'll try the scope but it did work after installing it. only started this yesterday. 

Should I try deleting my mods folder all together and start again?

 

Theres one more final thing I can think off

The in game semi trailer trucks I replaced with just a cab

 

Gonna try that and replace it  with stock

AND I STILL GET IT! ARGH....

There is another truck I put in game will try that but giving up now tbh

Deleted mods folder and works! ENB also works :-)

Glad you got it. :)  When installing stuff, make sure you keep track of exactly what all was changed.  Something was changed that caused it.
