I have tried to install the 1.0.7.0 update but every time, even though I have LaunchGTAIV.exe, I get "windows cannot find LaunchGTAIV.exe". Any suggestions? I have TeamViewer if someone could help. Much appreciated.

Are you running a pirated copy?

Did you download the legitimate patch update from R*?

 

Is this steam or disk?

Right click on GTAIV.exe,

 

go to properties, file details

 

check to see what version it says.

 

Are you using the exe or the msi in the zip file the download provides?

It says 1.0.8.0

i used the exe

Hi again. It seems we've had a lot of similar problems lol. If I remember correctly I copied and pasted my paul.dll stuff into another folder and deleted it. Also, a good list of things to think of doing when troubleshooting anything with GTA4 is making sure your ASI loader is installed correctly, (I prefer xlivless because for some reason it seems to fix most of my GTAIV errors), and making sure all mods are installed correctly or uninstall all modifications. I can't stress this enough! If you are going to modify GTA IV copy your directory as a vanilla copy. It has saved my life just taking baby steps when modifying GTAIV and making a copy while you still know the game works. I hope this helps

Follow this:

1. Download gta iv registry repair from this link (http://gta4.gamebanana.com/tools/5319)

2. After downloading it extract zip file

3. 1st Open PDF file and read it and you will know how to register the game

4 After registering the game run the patch 1.0.7.0
