I have tested with all types of backup, responding in all codes (including pursuit) in each distinct area of San Andreas. No backup responds when I call for it. It worked fine yesterday, and I have changed nothing since, but it has stopped working.
I have reinstalled lspdfr, no change, and now I have no idea. can you guys help?

I have provided it if you want to inspect my syntax, but the short answer is yes. however, it was working fine 24 hours ago and I've made no edits in that time.

 I'm not sure what has changed, but something is now causing it to crash.  Normally, if it's a user error, it'll point to the backup.xml and give a specific line the error is on.  It's not doing that, it just indicates a problem with the backup manager.

 

You could try using a different backup XML and see if that fixes it.

Just another suggestion to check... have you perhaps set 'police do not respond' to yes in Simple Trainer?  I've done that before and forgot about it.

I did a quick look through, but didn't see anything wrong.  I'd double check whatever you last edited.  Also, annoyingly enough, a non capitalized Vehicle tag can cause it not to work.  I do wonder if one of the <! comments you added had an error in it.

Good luck. :) If you can't figure it out, just ask!  One last thing, if there's a vehicle listed as a backup unit but it's no longer in the game, such as POLICE5, that might also do it.

maybe. I'll have to double check my namings. police, police2, police3 etc are all valid up to 7. as are sheriff vehicles up to 4 and cvpi up to 3. I need to check fbi is still a thing up to 5 though.

 

Well, all vehicles appear to be valid.

Good idea adding those so you know what's what.  I have a text document listing all my standalone car names and what they're with.  Seems easier than adding extra comments to every single line, lol.
