Can you post a screenshot of your root folder?

Initally it was as I was getting the error with LSPDFR terminating, but now after updating RPH its not working at all.

i can launch GTA from steam but when I click story mode it crashes

Either the mods you like are way different than mine, or you've done something seriously wrong (but I would suspect Kallus would've seen it first). There's a lot of stuff in your root folder that just doesn't seem right, but again, this could be your mods that I'm just not familiar with.

 

Regardless, I would make a complete backup (which I don't know why you would want to backup a broken version), uninstall the game entirely and reinstall it, and verify it works as it is from Rockstar.

Qwerty, I'm honestly not sure how or why your game has broken entirely due to just Rage updating.  Ultimately, it may come down to you needing to reinstall, but befor ehtne, try removing every plugin you absolutely do not need, this includes all of those XMLs in your directory.

It's mostly maps I've made in case you're wondering about the .xml files. all the files in their worked before this happened. Also, can you help with this? I got GTA IV a few weeks ago with LCPDFR, worked fine, then came creators update, and it wouldn't launch past social club when I accidentally deleted a .ivaud file. Even after redownloading the entire game it still does not work - any ideas on that one? it just won't launch past social club. I've tried running compatability mode, xliveless etc.

I have never done GTA IV modding, so I have zero knowledge there. Sorry.

I am having the EXACT same problem. Unfortunately I thought it was a mods folder problem and already restored my game version from a really old backup. (I lost sooo much progress)

 

It's weird that I played it for a solid week and hadn't made any changes besides adding a new sheriff vehicle within the last 3 days and suddenly it freezes about 5-10sec after going on duty and says it crashed due to a game freeze.

 

The only way I could get "ForceDuty" to not crash was dragging everything from my plugins folder to the desktop and launching the game without it. It worked and leads me to believe it is a plugin issue. A lot of trial and error will eventually pin point which one and my best guess so far is one of Albo's plugins.

 

(Another thread with this problem says viewing court status freezes his game)

 

try redownloading fresh versions of Albo's mods and see if that fixes it.

no problem, i was asking for GTA V regarding reinstall in case you misread, thanks for your help I know its still not fixed but you have helped me explore other options I wouldn't think of checking.

I would, except, my game is now fully broken :-/ i thought it was weird too like I hadn't even changed the game at all. Ironically enough I did think about deleting or updating Albo1125.common....

You're welcome.  Reinstalling GTA V is a pain, but at this point, I'm flabbergasted as to why everything broke just from updating Rage.

it's done it before, exact same problem regarding looping. Incredibly frustrating.

I checked for plugin updates. Albo's are more than a month old & his troubleshooter tells me to install C++ 2010 redistributable every time I run it. (Even after repairing or completely reinstalling it) It is fine for checking versions of various plugins but shouldn't be trusted as 100% accurate.

i did do it and it just gave me errors for outdated plugins

Okay its been a while now and last night an idea just popped into my head that maybe I should delete my mods folder. This morning, I did, and sure enough, it works.

 

How or why that would effect it I don't know but it works. 

 

Thanks for your help anyway. And, GTA IV is also working for me now too. Just needed to remove xliveless and install dsound.dll.
