What specs should I have for optimal LSPDFR experience?

Featured Replies

So I've been playing LSPDFR for a while and I absolutely love it. Its incredible how much this adds to the GTA 5 experience.

Thing is I have a ROG GL552VW gaming laptop. Not bad at all since it handles vanilla GTA 5 fairly good with a 2GB GTX 960M and 16GB ram, i7 too.

I noticed that LSPDFR reduces FPS by a huge ammount. I run at medium 50'ish FPS on vanilla but I get drops to 20 sometimes on modded GTA 5. I understand since its something the game wasnt designed to handle...

----------------

tl;dr

My next goal right now its to build a brand new PC. And I know there are a few guys that can play LSPDFR on at least 50 FPS with High settings... my question is, what specs should I focus on and what parts could you suggest, considering price/benefit?

Budget is nearly 900 € so obviously I won't blow everything on a GTX 1080ti so be realistic...

I have a 1050ti 4gb mini and I can play with mid range performance and graphics.

16gb+ RAM is recommended

And a strong processor (High end i5 or i7)

i have the same GPU a quad core 3.8ghz I7 Processsor and 32gb of ram. I can run Max settings vanilla 80-90 fps and about 50 fps on high with LSPDFR and about 15 addons but there is alot of game lag not FPS lag. The difference is game lag its the game lagging vs my hardware not being able to handle it. the game is just not built to handle this kind of heavy modifications

I enjoy playing it. Its just when im going 100 down the highway the game does not like it very much. Also if theres alot of cars nearby 35+ other than that its perfect. Hey want to do some online playing with me with the co-op mod?

I was thinking about a 7th Gen i5 and a GTX 1060... I know aint getting that with 900€ so ill stretch the budget a bit. But is that good enough?
Oh and 16 GB ram.

yea GTA V can run on all types of PC's but those specs would be fine. Just make sure you turn Vsync off and the memmory on your GPU is in the green in the graphics menu

Mine is ok too but after like a few plugins this becomes almost unplayable. For example, can't even play with Keep Calm mod... its very annoying having those peds always freaking out.
Maybe a 1050 will do the job too

Keep calm should not hinder performance. It's just a script and information text for AI. Feel free to install, like you said it's extremely helpful.

1050 would be good, it's what I have.

Just chipping in, Keep calm has had multiple reports that it causes performance loss.

Just to give you an example of how alot of mods and scripts can cause performance lost; I had a rig with an i5 4590 and a 970, I would get around 80 fps at a mixture of high and very high settings without being on duty. As soon as I would go on duty I would get 40-60 fps.

I recently built a new computer with a i7 7700k and a 1080 Ti; I get around 135 fps at max settings whilst off duty, and on duty i get an average of 90 fps with sometime drops to the 60's, in Downtown Los Santos I get drops to 40 fps.

I use a very heavily modded game, and I enjoy these mods so I deal with it. One day I will spend a long time to install my mods one by one to figure out which ones cause the performance loss.

Read the Readme's and mod pages, don't be stupid.

Keep calm does hinder performance, yet I still use it.

Same.

I have to re-mod my game now because sandy shores is all messed up.

The textures are like purple and I fall off the map in the streets and buildings.

Crazy isn't it?

I just upgraded my 970 to a 1080 and still have the same i7-4770 processor w/ 16 go of ram and when I go on duty I get in the 40-50's on all high settings. It's pretty ridiculous how I optimized GTA V is compared to playing even the most demanding games at well over 100 fps.
