RagePluginHook - GTAVLauncher.exe failed to start

I currently don't have an anti-virus outside of Windows Defender, which I disabled, and I've made exceptions in the firewall for Rage/all GTAV exes. I'm still struggling with trying to get it not to give me the error of GTAVLauncher.exe failed to start.

At this point, I unfortunately don't know.  I've scoured Google and several topics for solutions, none of which have worked.  It has to be something with your computer, or some setting.  I keep looking over your directory and the path is right, you have Rage in the proper folder.

The very last possibility I can think of is open your commandline, which is in the main GTA V directory.  Is anything written in it?

If yes, delete everything inside it, then save and try,

If nothing is in it, type -scOfflineOnly and try again.

Unfortunately -scOfflineOnly didn't work either. I really do appreciate your help and effort to help me get it working.

Do me one last favor, please.  Verify that the Rage version you're using is the latest, 0.55.  Then open the properties for GTA 5.exe and see what version that says.  Do the same for GTAVLauncher.

Rage Version Installed: 0.55.1131.11501

GTAV Version: 1.0.1103.2

GTAVLauncher: 1.0.1103.2

Okay, now I'm aggravated, lol.  Versions are all fine.  Do you have OpenIV? If so, open it and see if it says anything about a title update.

Nothing said about a title update as far as I can tell.

Do you have any type of parental control system, or web blocker, or anything on your computer similar to that?

As far as I'm aware no. The only thing that would remotely impend the operations would be windows defender and the firewall which they're allowed through or I disabled it.

Weirdly enough the RagePluginHook.exe will start GTAV, and I'll get through it. But around the loading screen after the splash screen it'll then pop-up the error message of "GTAVLauncher.exe failed to start".

At what point on the splash screen does it crash?    Loading story? or?

Right at when it begins "Loading Story".

.......I'm going to feel so very stupid if your answer is what I think it is.  What part are you at in the story?  Are you at a free roam point?

I'm right after the "Hotel Assassination" mission, and currently just free roaming.

Damn.  Run this troubleshooter please.  I doubt it will, but lets see if it comes back with any issues.

Unfortunately it comes up blank other than that I'm missing LSPDFR and albo's script. Which is fine because it seems to be purely RPH.

Open Rage and go into the settings.  I know you might not completely understand the settings in there (if you do, my apologies).  Have a look through all of them please.  See if there's anything that may be hindering this process.

No settings are checked, not in Adv or in Game Settings. Neither are there any in the commandline one.

In your Rage settings, go to game settings-->check the box "ignore different video card".

I'm still getting the error around "Loading Story". Even trying to start it while the game is running doesn't work.

The only possible thing that's preventing you is the story mode, which it shouldn't.  You could try and download a completed game save and see if that makes a difference.
