Creator's update causing havoc for second display?

Featured Replies

I run dual monitors, with my second screen being a 1080p tv.  The stupid update was forced on me this morning and I immediately noticed things are out of wack on my second display.  The resolution isn't right, but if I try to switch said resolution, it just makes the screen smaller, it doesn't fix the actual problem.

In regards to the resolution, this is on my second display.  The windows bar gets cut off.  In my browser, it's the same thing.

Someone I was talking to said in regards to my color/white issue, my overscan got turned up?  I haven't touched my settings, so this was all Microsoft.

I know this isn't a tech support forum, but I also know everyone here has had to deal with this update, so I'm hoping someone else might of experienced this.

Yeah that would most likely be overscan if it's a TV. Not sure why it would suddenly be an issue after the update, though. Have you checked your TV's display settings to turn overscan off?

I have an old TV that doesn't have it in the settings, and I need to go into the Nvidia control panel and adjust the desktop size for it. It basically brings up the "safe zone" type thing that games do on the first start, and you can adjust the borders. Only problem is it gets reset with every driver update.

I did play around with my tv settings, but I didn't find an overscan option.  I toyed around with my NVIDIA control panel and managed to get it fixed only after asking a friend on Steam.  However, it seems like a temporary fix.  When I launched GTA just a bit ago, my settings reset, and my second display messed up again.  I don't play games on the second display, so I'm not sure why this would be happening.  As of right now my display is acting as it should and color is fine.  I'm just wondering if this will become something I have to mess with every single time I launch a game.
