no patrol

i cant go on patrol i cant press f4 to bring up the menu. i cant press e to go on patrol. HELP!

When you press F4, what happens? Does the game freeze, or nothing at all?

No, it shouldn't matter if you're Michael, Trevor or Franklin.  Make sure you're not at a part in the main story that requires you to do missions.

simion does call me and it tells me to go to his mission thing to start the mission

Go ahead and do his mission, wait until you get into free roam before trying again.

its an optional mission but also the only mission. but ok ill do it and let you know what happens

i found out that  i have directX that is all i know. have any idea were the other files are or were they are supposed to be?

Open up your control panel, and go to the list of installed programs.  Here you can see your Microsoft Visuals.  You should have all of these, including the framework.

This problem also happens to me. LSPDFR only loads in about 1/10 of the time. The attached image is the microsoft files I have right now.

You can use a trainer to spawn in a bodyguard, just need to set their task to 'follow' or 'look at player'.

Unfortunately not.  You need a trainer, or the Yet Another Partner Mod which is uploaded on this site.
