Need Assistance with LCPDFR Launch

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, first I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read my post. I'm having a bit of a problem with LCPDFR. When I load the game up and I'm ready to rock and roll, I go to press Left ALT - P and nothing happens. Now I've followed tutorials, the support questionnaire and even re-installed LCPDFR, GTA IV, NET Framework 4, C++ 2010 x86 multiple times. I'm starting to lose faith and I now seek for the forums help. I also always run the game as administrator ;). I'd also like to point out that I currently have GTA IV from Steam. I'd really appreciate any assistance you guys may have to offer. Thank you!

sooo you don't get message in the upper left saying "go to a police station marked on your map?" and stars don't appear on the map?

It appears to me, your scripthook and scripthook.net are failing to load properly as you are missing the log files. Are you sure you have the full profile of the .net framework and proper C++2010?

No, LCPDFR is the only mod I've downloaded, Just got the game for the computer a few days ago.

[Edit 1] If anyone is willing to lend an extra hand I do have Teamviewer. Some other info that may help is in regards to having the "read only attribute disabled" the read only box is highlighted blue, I'm not sure if maybe that may have something to do with it. I also run GTA IV in compatibility mode with Windows 2000, I also don't know if that may also have something to do with it.

is there a reason it's in compatibility mode right now? just wondering. hrm.....it should be working...i see no reason why it shouldn't be....odd odd odd...

I run it in compatibility mode (Windows 2000) because if I don't and I run it as normal (Windows Vista Service Pack 2), when i launch the game all that happens is "GTAIV has stopped working..."

It may be worth a shot to to make the GTA folder NOT read only, It could be why there are no logs, I can Teamveiwer assist If you would like to to take a crack at it.

The same happens to me when I press alt-p it changes my graphics a bit but lcpdfr will not run.

Should I delete any outer script hooks?

Here too. I've got EFLC, but I have exactly the same problem.

Allthoug, I should also add that when I first install it, I get an error concidering the dsound.dll-file. I don't have the exact error now, cause I am past that point, and unable to get back to where I were. I then deleted the dsound.dll, and everything worked fine, but, as mentioned, nothing but blurry graphics happened when pressing alt+p (same thing happened when pressing p without alt, by the way). I now finally tried to install the mod with the xliveless in stead of dsound, despite all the warnings. I then actually got a changed loading screen from what I used to, and also got a message saying that the saved file missed requested dl files, new game would be started. So, finally something happens. Unfortunately, after the loading, I got a general Windows error ("the programme has stopped working", directly translated from my Norwegian windows error). Then I tried to delete the xliveless-file, and now the screen just goes black as soon as I start a game, doesn't matter if it's Ballad of Gay Tony or The Lost and Damned. The computer makes work sound, so something seems to be going on (or it could just be because it's pretty hot here these days), but I waited for 2-3 minutes, and nothing happened, so I closed the game. Same thing happens every time I try.

Any suggestions? Sounds like a great mod, and I'd like to try it. If I don't get it working, is there any way to delete it and revert the game to original? Preferably keeping my saved game...

Okay, I assumed it would be better to collect all the identical issues in one thread. I'll make my own, sorry.

No worries, reason for this is so this topic can remain on the OP's problem, rather than having everyone have there issues fixed and the OP's left un attended and his thread Hijacked.
