Invalid Model (Non-Addon)

So after reinstalling my game recently I have a small issue. Police, police3, police4, and most likely more I haven't discovered yet can't be spawned by Trainer, nor RAGE Console. So only police4 is a modded car (Lundy's unmarked stanier). It may be that I'm using Vehicle Handling V by Cass. It hasn't been updated for the latest game update. Do note I put all moddded cars in the most recent patchday. However this has never been an issue. I looked up the issue and I have the most updated version of MP in SP. I'm at a loss here. Any ideas?

Do the cars actually spawn and work in game?  I mean, does the police model spawn normally at the station, or respond as it should if you request backup?

 

I don't know about the vehicle handling mod, but if the vehicles spawn normally in other instances, it just might be this mod.

So the vehicles don't spawn at all. Police, and police3 are completely vanilla. When I try to spawn them in the RAGE Console it doesn't even give me the option (with the auto-fill not even being there as if it didn't recognize the name).

Where did you place the modded files for the vehicles?  Try putting them in your very latest patchday.  (Except for Police4, that goes in x64e)

I put all replace car files in patchday15. However this shouldn't be an issue as police, and police3 aren't modded.

I would go ahead and try removing the handling line mod.  Unless there is some other mod you installed, nothing else should be interfering with modded cars spawning.

You could always wait and see if someone else has an idea.

 

Was everything spawning fine prior to adding in this handling line mod?

Well I'm uninstalling the mod now (replacing with a handling mod updated for this version). And I have no idea as as soon as I get the game installed I dump in all my scripts, plugins, and other mods I need. I know I should put them in slowly, but... :)

Pfffft!  Start adding in things slowly and checking to make sure the game still works. :P

Removing the mod didn't do it. I can't think of what else it would be :/

Well ever since I reinstalled I have actually DECREASED the usual number of mods I run. The only thing I usually use that would affect meta files is VisualV and I'm not using that this time around. So I have no idea what would cause it. I might just verify my game too unbearable, but as of now my game is playable.

Have you tried going on duty at the police station and spawning police4 that way?  I mean choosing the vehicle from the garage.

Tried it. It's like the files don't even exist (yes the files do exist). Ya know how a police stainer spawns at the airport NOOSE station outside in the little driveway? Well it just puts a random car model there. Not even a police car. Just a random car.

I think somewhere along the way you modified something that either shouldn't of ben, or without knowing installed the model wrong.  Where did you install the police4 models?  Did you delete the original files?  Are you using a mods folder?

I didn't edit any meta files myself as nothing required it. I installed the police4 model into patchday15. I did not delete the original files (I never do and it never causes an issue). I am not using a mods folder. Oh and I did delete the police4 mod with no result.

Police4 files belong in x64e.  :)  If you don't have x64e in your mods folder, just copy it over.

Oh I know. It's a pretty common misconception that you MUST override the files. If you put the files in the most recent patchday the game thinks it's been updated by R* and uses those files in the game. I've done this for at least a year now without incident. And I don't use a mods folder. I have in the past and things just got messy.

You pretty much have to use a mods folder.  When you mess with the vanilla files, anything can happen.  The latest patchday works for most vehicles, however, there are some, like POLICE4, that have to be in x64e.  I've tried adding in an overwrite in the latest patchday and it didn't work, because x64e was taking precedence over it.  If you haven't already, give it a try.

 

Be aware, you not using a mods folder could be the overall issue here.  I strongly, strongly, strongly encourage you add one.  They will protect you from having to completely reinstall your game if you do something wrong.
