I am a complete novice when it comes to building a PC, hence why I am buying pre-built. How with this G427 perform?

 

Any suggestions on a monitor as well

It's a Top of the line PC you should be good to run anything, old and new with no issues.

I second this. These specs make me jealous....

 

GTA V is a very CPU-intensive game and the 7700k is one of their newest and best -performing products marketed for gaming setups. And the 1080 is an excellent graphics card to complement it. The 16 gb of RAM will be plenty and a 500gb SSD will allow you to install OS, any programs, and the most modded version of GTA w/ ample room to store for other games you don't want to keep in the other 2 TB of HDD.

However, first. Mess around a bit on pcpartpicker. You maybe able to build a better PC for that price. if you're spending $1500 on a PC.. you want the best bang for your buck (especially performance).

 

Pre-builts can be good, however i have seen some with stupid price tags on them which are literally halved if you just buy the parts and build it yourself (which isn't that hard. it's actually fairly easy once you watch some YouTube videos)
