This has been reported a myriad of times. A simple search of the forums would have yielded thousands upon thousands of the same error report, and if you had read the stickies, you would have found a solution much quicker. Seeing how you posted here, I can tell that you did not actually read any of them, contrary to what you claim.

But anyways, the solution to this problem is simple. Make sure that your game's root directory isn't marked as "read-only." To check for this, go to your game's install folder, right-click it, and look at the "Attributes" section near the bottom. Make sure that "read-only" is unchecked. After that, right-click on the installer program, click on "Properties" in the drop-down menu, go to the "Compatibility" tab, and then check "Run program as Administrator" near the bottom. Once you've done all this, the install should go smoothly and before you know it, you'll be enjoying LCPD:FR. Be sure to also apply the same "Run as Admin" settings to LaunchGTAIV.exe for the mod to work.

Hope this helps you!

I have done all the above and still get the same error...

Well, people who have followed all the above steps always get it to work, because this error is a result of the installer not being able to access the game's files due to Windows' UAC user rights and program priviledges security system. You can try to uncheck installing the taser to see if the installer can still go through the entire process, as the taser is the only component that requires modification of the game's actual files.

Additionally, download and run the then post your diagnostic log here so we can check if you have other missing files and errors with your copy of the game.

It says no

ASI Loader

C++ scripthook

.Net Scripthook

LCPFR settings and audio

Can you please post the entire report? Just copy/paste it into a post. And be sure to run the diagnostic tool as admin, because it may fail to work properly otherwise.

And do you mean "no" as it it does not have the items you listed? You must have Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 and Microsoft Visual C++ in order for the mod to work. Additionally, it makes sense for the log to say you don't have an ASI loader and the LCPD:FR files because you were unable to install the mod correctly.

You should have told me you were running EFLC instead earlier, LOL! And here's the problem...do you see it? You need the latest version of EFLC (and GTA IV, for that matter) to be able to run the mod correctly. Download and install EFLC patch 1.1.2.0 and everything should work out for you! :happy:

Enjoy, and have fun!

Well I tried to fix everything and nothing works. Oh well. Thanks for trying to help!

You have installed the latest patch and it's still not working? And if you are still having trouble allowing your game's folders to be accessible by the mod (i.e. not "read-only"), follow this guide by Microsoft. Everyone who has followed the troubleshooting steps for getting the mod to install usually work, and only in rare circumstances are extreme measures, such as reinstalling the game, ever necessary.

Reinstall EFLC, update it up to 1.1.2.0, then instal LCPD:FR, make sure that all boxes are checked, except for the XLiveless one when there is a list of modules that will be installed. From the report, I could see that there was no ASI loader install (dsound.dll) and the Scripthook didn't get installed when you have installed the mod.
