Do you have anything modded via OpenIV? If so, is it modded in "mods" folder or in the game folder?

I have a lot of mods.

Of course they are all under a mods folder in open IV.

 

I've been playing LSPDFR for a while now.

This may be the problem. After the update the game does have those files that you have in mods folder updated but only in the main folder. The mods folder contains all the outdated files (I'm talking here mostly about update.rpf) so the game is confused, because it has some files updated in the main folder, and some outdated in the mods folder. I had to re-install all the openiv mods again after the 1011 update otherwise the game wouldn't even start (and would stop at the opening screen) and I guess you will have too. Just back up your current mods folder in case.

I didn't update the game though.

 

I downloaded it, and put mods in it.

So you are on which version? 1011 or the latest one? Or maybe even some previous one?

So you installed the game clean on 1011, and installed all the mods afterwards right?

Try this: Change the name of the folder "mods" to "mods - old" or whatever and tun on the game afterwards. Report here whether it turns on completely or not.

What I'm doing is re-modding a directory again 1011
