Movies

Featured Replies

Hey, I just noticed (call me dumb)that when more movies of the same trilogy made they go south. Opinions? Examples? I found a few (in my opinion)

1. Transformers

transformers 1 was excellent a 4.5/5, but the second and 3rd and 4th.......and now 5th! are all sucking. I saw the trailer for the 5th one, now compare that to the first one and I ask myself.......how?

2. Star Wars

Star wars has its up and downs. most movies are great, but right now the story is lacking. Yes there are new characters and events and questions, but the triple death star thing is out of wack. Clearly making a metal ball bigger is not the answer to taking over the universe far far away. amd someone give a logical reason why the first order is there. who wants to be a storm trooper bc the 501st is gone so.......yea.

3. Twilight

Simple rule its not complicated " WHEN YOU SEE A VAMPIRE RUN AWAY!!!!"

Also, list your top 3 favorite shows/ movies.

1. Star Wars (awesome)

2. The Hunger Games 1 (ok)

3. Brooklyn Nine Nine (f****** hilarious)

Honestly most movies that have sequels/trilogies/sagas are crap. They go big on the first one, make a lot of money because it's a big hit then try to do it again with a sequel and it goes wrong.

Creating more than one movie just becomes repetitive, The sequels never change stories either they're pretty much all the same (Take Alien for example.. Great franchise, although it went crap with 3 and Resurrection. 1 and 2 were great. They have also become repetitive.. we all know how it'll go and how it ends.. person becomes curious - gets  a facehugger attached (except 3 when it was a dog that got infected) - chestburster - alien - everyone dies except for Ripley - alien gets sucked into space - Ripley sleeps)

it's mainly why i watch tv series rather than movies. it's quite rare now i find a movie that i enjoy (and the movies i do enjoy watching are one time things with no sequels)

Here's a good question: How is the fast and furious movie franchise still alive?

Because each movie makes hundreds of millions in profit...

Why are the movies so popular? Because the action is spectacular, the movies are fun to watch, and insanely over the top. It's never taken itself seriously, but it's never promised to be anything more than that.

Like @Constable Lego said they make a crap ton of profit.. and the action is pretty awesome. They have lost their way though. Do they even street race anymore? it's all robbing banks now.

As long as they go over the top/spend a lot of money on their action sequences.. they'll make a huge profit.

I only saw the 7th one and I fell asleep 10 minutes in.
