Can't upload to gallery + ads disable typing mid sentence

When I go to upload to the gallery it says that there was a problem processing the upload and to contact for assistance. I've tried jpeg and png with no luck. Also, when I don't have adblock enabled it seems as though the site is running ads often that remove focus from a text box while I am in the middle of typing. It is very annoying and I'm forced to enable adblock if I want to type faster than three words at a time without re-clicking on the text box.
