The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

GTAVLauncher.exe fails to start

Featured Replies

Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here! Figured I'd give this a go again since the last time I played LSPDFR was when it first came out.

Let me start off by saying, yes I have everything installed to the proper locations, all the files that need to be unblocked, are, all files that need to be updated, are, all versions of the proper files (LSPDFR, RPH, .NET Framework) are the latest versions downloaded from their respective sources. I have the latest version of DirectX, my PC is able to support the game and meets the minimum requirements for the game itself as well as for RAGEPluginHook. I own a legal copy of the game purchased via Steam as well. I have followed the tutorials and tried the automatic installer and the manual installer, too. I cannot add the game as an exception to my antivirus since the license has expired for it. All .exe files needed to run have been tried in various compatibility modes, as well as with and without elevated privileges, but I keep getting the error message with RAGE saying GTAVLauncer.exe has failed to start.

My issue arises when I go to start GTA V via the RAGEPluginHook. I've reinstalled both RAGE and LSPDFR multiple times, all while following the various instructions from multiple support threads already posted here. I figured I would make this one since I haven't been able to find on that is related to my issue directly. If one exists, I do apologise in advance!!

Anyways, when I launch RAGE to start GTA V with LSPDFR, it checks everything as normal then I get this message: http://puu.sh/uc44T/654b7486c5.jpg

After this message pops up, I clear it and GTA V starts as normal, runs completely fine, but does not allow me to use LSPDFR or the F4 Console function of RPH

I am at a loss here guys, I dunno if I am missing something or I've done something wrong, but I'm at my wits end! I feel like I have missed something on my end, and it's probably something extremely easy too. I know I need my Rage log file, but if you guys need any other info, lemme know and I'll attach it here!

Thanks in advance guys, the help is appreciated! And it feels good to start getting back into the community. I've seen a lot of new names just browsing through. Some old ones too! I see you ineseri.....

RagePluginHookLauncher.log

Firstly, welcome back! I've recently returned myself.

From what I've managed to find on the RPH forums, one user ran this tool (or something similar) and found the issue. It could be a outdated or damaged .NET Framework. Give it a run and report back

Hello there Harper!!!

I apologise for the delay in reply, I got a bit busy with various things. But I just now ran the trouble shoot that you linked to me and it came up with two errors; one error was that I was missing a .dll folder that is one of Albo1125's that is used for running his mods (I don't run any mods besides LSPDFR), and the other was that I was somehow missing a RagePluginHookUI.dll folder. I added the required files in, unblocked them, and ran GTA V via the RPH launcher, but the same error occurs where it says that GTAVLauncher.exe failed to start. I reran the troubleshooter and it came back with no errors at all. I dunno at this point.

hmmm.. I know I have a ALBO1125.common FOLDER and a  ALBO1125.common.dll  in my main Game folder. Also khorio and steath22 namesake.common.dll's for callouts an stuff.

Ive also had trouble with RAGEHookUI.dll versions. theyre different sizes an came with different callouts an things. for example khorio makes rednecks an auto roadblocks an each comes with a different kb common dll. same for ALBO.

Id say make sure you have all the required files in main game folder after all those re-installs.

Can you provide RagePluginHookLauncher.log in your GTA directory?

As you might guess, I make PeterUCallouts. I love working to bring LSPDFR players the kind of callouts that strike a good balance between realism and fun and are stable & varied!

Unfortunately I cannot offer support via PM -- please use the forums, so that others may benefit from your solutions!

I recently had this issue and contacted rockstar support about it. They told me to reinstall the game and run it. If reinstalling it didn't work, they told me to follow this link:

The reinstall worked for me but if it doesn't, I would try the link.

I have it attached to my original post. Should be on the bottom of the OP.

I'll give it a shot, but I can start and run the game just fine. I have no issues running the game without RagePluginHook. When I go to start the game via RPH, I get he above stated error, but then the game starts and runs normally, just without any mods.

At the moment, the only mods that is installed is LSPDFR, no other addons from anybody else.

Do you by any chance have Avast anti-virus software? Recent definitions updates have caused compatibility problems for many and they find that they need to add the whole GTA folder to their exclusion list.

I do not. I use BitDefender, but I have I disable it whenever I install mods or use games with mods or modded content in them.
