ELS and other stuff

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am new to modding I have GTA V on steam.

I am trying to understand why the police lights do not work. I have placed all the light folders in the ELS folder as per instructions, the sires come on but nothing else. Also the ELS control panel doesn't come up on screen when I press CTRL P as well. I do have all the files needed and script hook.

Finally, I want to understand which files I should update to place mods in as there are SO many. Does it matter which I patch I use?

Thanks!

As far as ELS goes, you have to use the CTRL on the right side of the the keyboard. Also make sure you go into the vehicle components menu in a trainer and enable all components.  If you're using ELS-Style vehicles by Captain14 then take them out. They're meant to mimic, but not to be used with ELS.

Always place vehicle files in the latest patchday. For ELS vehicles, place the VCF file in the folder (I believe called @pack_default) inside your ELS folder.

I don't understand the point of signatures on this site. What the fuck is the point?

Thanks but even the other AI police cars don't have their lights working. Unless its the default cars by rockstar?

I have just checked all settings are on in trainer, if I press right control nothing works same with control P etc, ive tried everything. It feels like ELS is not installed but it is

Fresh install now, and still no luck. Lights will work on default police cars tho. Do I need to download any other Microsoft packages? Rage plugin says ive got everything installed tho

UPDATE: I had scroll lock on!! I can see it working hover, sirens dont stay on unless I hold down Key T etc? and also is there a way to change the scroll lock to a different button because that's my light for keyboard ccheers

Hey all.  Having a very similar issue with ELS.  I have ELS installed, along with bxbugs123 CVPI v1.9L, and the Hurk's 2016 FPIU.  ELS doesn't seem to work on anything.  Pushing "J" only makes the tailights flash.  Pushing "Ctrl+P" only opens the escape menu, "K" and "L" do nothing, and to the best of my knowledge none of the other controls work.  Its as if ELS is not installed.  I have installed everything according to the guides.  The ELS ini is pointing to the correct VCF folder, and I have all relevant xml files from the two cars correctly named and in the correct folder.

My guess is either there is some conflict that is preventing ELS from recognizing commands, or ELS is not loading for some reason despite being installed.

KingKenny make sure you hit the scroll lock is off. This was my  issue. If you have a gaming PC this will probably turn its light off however, i've just bought a new one and i can have my light on now as it requires me to hit FN. So yes turn scroll lock off and then press CTRL P, you should be good to go.

My scroll lock is off and I am still having this issue.

I've seen in videos where people get into a police car and the display comes up automatically.  Is there a way to configure ELS to do this?
