Peds on policebike

Featured Replies

Howdy gals and fellas,

I have peds driving and sitting next to the highway (like a patrol) on my policebike (policeb). This apparently only happens in Paleto bay (since you hardly see any policebikes in the city). On the side of the highway leading away from Paleto, there is supposed to be 2 bikecops. 1 standing next to his bike drinking coffee but the other is a ped sitting on the policebike.

These peds are mostly the Sandy Shores (hillbilly or desert dweller) types.

Anybody also has this or knows what it is caused by?

Tanx in advance...

If the bikes are located alongside the highway, where you'd normally find the bike units sitting, it sounds like maybe it's a ped texture issue.  Have you edited ped textures at all?

When you call in state patrol back up and the Police motorcycle rolls in, are you seeing highway patrol peds, or just regular civilians?

I have not edited ped textures at all.

Tanx for the idea about the back-up, I hadn't done that yet actually. I'll try it out later.

I have Traffic Variety installed which allows you to add more police patrols. When I had done that there seemed to be only peds patrolling on the bike. So I removed the "more patrols" option and know it's less but just because you see less patrols also.

You're welcome. :)

I've not heard of the Traffic Variety mod.  If that what was causing it, then I imagine all you would need to do is go in and edit the file.  Or did it not have an option to select which peds were on patrols?

Honestly, I don't think that's causing it but I'll go and remove it anyway and see.

You cannot edit peds in Traffic variety. It is actually installed with OpenIV. It's on of the 2 files you install Traffic variety with extra patrols or without.

Oh, I wasn't aware.

When did this issue start?  When was the last time you played and the patrols were normal?

So, you have random peds spawning for the highway scenario?

Do you have a modified ambientpedmodelsets by chance? Some error in there might be causing the game to load the wrong peds for use (I once recreated the Red Dead animal people glitch by messing that file up).

I don't know exactly what you mean by "random peds spawning for the highway scenario". what scenario?

Anyway, I don't remember when the issue started because I have too many scripts and call-outs installed. but not a pedmod. so it can't be that.

Okay guys and dolls, I found out why this particular bike spawns with peds on them. It's in the vehicle. meta :whistling:

The names of the drivers are hillbilly02 and Salton01. They don't seem to belong on a police-bike.

To all those who tried to help...tanx for your time and inspiration.
