I assume you mean the RPH load screen?  What part of it does it crash on, "loading and populating game world"?  If so, the issue is either with a meta or carvar file, or you could've reached your standalone car limit.  If it's the latter, I can provide you with my gameconfig which allocates for a lot of standalone cars.  If you did recently edit your meta or carvar, please attach them to your next reply.

Okay, I'm going to need a lot more details from you.  That carvar is incomplete.  There's only one car file, and then a lonesome <Item> tag.

What exactly were you editing in your carvar? Were you editing the vehicles meta as well?

no i was just installing it as the readme said but I must've done that incorrectly

From the looks of it, that carvar is from update-->update-->common.  What were you installing?

Did you utilize your mods folder?  If so,  go into update-->update-->common and extract the carvar file.  Open it, and copy everything.  Next delete the carvar you extracted (on your desktop, not the one in OpenIV) Then go into mods-->update-->update-->common and extract that carvar.  Open it, and delete everything in it.  Then paste the content you copied.

If you didn't use your mods folder, I can provide you with my vanilla carvar for you to replace.

This might be obvious, but remember to put your edited/fixed carvar back into OpenIV. :)

Let me know if you need help with that.  Otherwise, once you get it fixed, I can help you with installing whatever vehicle you were.

thanks! it was the following files the lights don't work properly though so I'm assuming it had to do with the carvariations. I'm not too familiar with editing those.

One sec.  Can you please verify you can get into game now and play?  I ask because the carvar you linked is still missing a lot.

yes i can. I re-installed the original as you suggested. this is the carvar that came with the car files

That carvar is broken, then, because it only lists "police" and then has a lone <Item> tag.  If you'd like, I can upload my hwycar carvars (I have the CHP pack installed) and can link you to them to use.  Will you need all of them, or just the one?

If it is not an entire Carvar file, you have to add the lines to the specified file. If the file only contains one car, you cannot replace the original. You MUST MUST MUST add that one car to the specified file. If it is a complete file, you can replace. A typical file contains 10-20 vehicles.

Can some explain to me what you should put in your purple mods folder before modding or changing anything? I'm assuming this is something new that they automatically added a mods folder for you with ragehook or scripting or whichever gave your gta directory the new purple folder. Lets just say you were start from scratch tho you just installed gta5 and after that finished you installed ragehook and script and openiv. Now you have a brand new purple mods folder with nothing in it. What should you add to it? And how should you add it? (i.e drag and drop copy and paste)
