757.4/RPH .40 up to 791/RPH .042 crashes

Alright guys and gals. I've lurked here, I've read threads etc......I followed the workaround sticky in this forum on how to avoid updates. Did exactly as it said, it worked exactly as advertised. I still have a perfectly stable working LSPDFR using build 757.4 and RPH .40 and I'm happy with that BUT I want to play with some new mods, so I reversed what I did with the update (all files backed up, of course). Problem is, it's not working. I put in the correct gtav.exe and gtalauncher.exe and swap out the update.rpf files, put in RPH .42, I removed all plugins because I'm guessing some of them won't be compatible with .42 (I tried it with and without the plugins), and subsequently fire up RPH. It goes all the way through the loading screen but the moment "loaded lspd first response plugin" pops up, crash to desktop. I'm doing this from work so I don't have any of my log files here but I can add them in later. I just want to generate some ideas of things that maybe I haven't tried or probably haven't thought of. Vehicle files causing issues? Metadata and/or carvariations files causing issues? I don't know. It seems like such a simple idea to reverse the update files but apparently it isn't that easy! Thank you in advance.

You nee to use the LSPD First Response 0.3.1 and RPH 0.42 thats the stable one.  but when you have installed GTAV then use to start first PlayGTAV when it has load and install the updates then you can play till you have the first mission and you can save when you are at home. Then exit the game.

Then install LSPDFR and other mods you like, take the nwest and not the older for RPH 0.40  then you can install RPH 0.42  Yes ther is an 0.44 but some people has prob with that one.   When you use RPH 0.42  then the game run smooth.     BUT is for best to remove first all GTAV and LSPDFR  and install GTAV  but shut down first your virus scanner

I have been using 0.3.1 and have downloaded 0.42 and have to correct update files for GTA. GTA V is installed and I've been using build 757.4 with 0.40 like I stated. Do I need to run the game through Steam first, with the updated files instead of RPH? I wouldn't think that would matter but I'm willing to give anything a shot at this point. Any other ideas folks? Surely I'm not the only one that has used the update workaround and then wanted to update after modders have re-worked their mods to be stable with the current versions of GTA and RPH.........

I think we're having a communication mixup and it might be my fault.

I have the correct GTAV.exe, GTAVLauncher.exe, and the update.rpf files for 791.1.

--here's what happens--

1) I remove version 757.4 gtav.exe / gtavlauncher.exe and update.rpf files and put them in a separate folder on my desktop.

2) I replace them (in game directory) with the same 3 files for 791.1.

3) I copy and paste RHP 0.42 into my directory to replace 0.40.

4) I use the new RHP.exe file in the directory to launch the game.

5) game crashes on the loading screen right when is says "loaded LSPD First Response plugin"

Does anybody have any other thoughts or ideas?

Are you an steam user because you don't have PlayGTAV.exe  I use CD's   and when you have still an Build 757.4 then you miss and new update from GTA5 and that's why I told you start the game with PlayGTAV.exe  that will load and install the rest from the new updates and then you have Build 791.1 ,

But the best way is to uninstall GTA5 and all LSPDFR files before you install again GTA5  ( shut down your virus scanner and pc protector before Using PlayGTAV.exe
