GTA stuttering after a while

Featured Replies

So I've been having a problem lately where after a few hours (2-3) of playing LSPDFR, GTA starts stuttering and loses frames. I check my CPU usage and Physical Memory usage and they look normal any clue what might be causing this?

System specs:

Spoiler

Intel Core i7 3960x @3.30 HZ

Nvidia Titan Black 6 GB

16 GB RAM

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Could be an issue with your graphics card getting a bit hot. I noticed mine stuttered when playing CoD Advanced Warfare after playing it for a while, restarted the game after my card cooled down and it was fine.

Also try turning off Hyper-Threading in your BIOS (if your CPU supports it and it's enabled) i noticed that reduce the stuttering/lag massively in CoD.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

Whats the average temperature a graphics card should be running at? When I shut down my game I immediately start it again and poof stuttering is gone till another 2-3 hours and I get the same problem again.

Temperature might cause it, as well as possibly outdated drivers :)

My graphics card drivers are up to date and the temperature is usually around 80 degrees Celsius

depending on the airflow, It should be running at anything between 29-40 degrees idle and around 70-80 underload. my card gets around 79-80 degrees while gaming and that's a Titan X.

The stock coolers on the Titans aren't all that great, There are better after-market coolers out there which if you want to lower your temps you could buy one and replace your cooler. they just won't have the pretty GEFORCE GTX lighting and look a bit crap (but they do well)

i'd go into your BIOS and disable Hyper-Threading, this could improve your FPS/performance it has with me.

Temp for sure, mine did the same, I started using my cooling pad for my gaming laptop and it helped tremendously.

My Desktops case is a HAF full tower with like 5 fans haha, since everyone is saying its a temp problem Ill play the game and as soon as stuttering starts ill check the temp.

If it is do you think I should buy some sort a water cooling system or an extra fan or something? I've never had this problem before.

Ill turn off hyper-threading and test it and see. Ill check the temps the moment I get stuttering/lag (if I get it), btw I have Razor Cortex and Mz Ram Boost running in the background.
