  • System RAM (GB): 3 CPU cores: 2 If thats what you call a gaming computer, you've been seriously ripped off buddy.

Check your root directory (rockstar gamesgrand theft auto iv) and see if either dsound or xliveless are in there.

If they both are: delete one

If neither are: reinstall the mod and make sure you choose to install one of them

It is preferred you install dsound rather than xliveless.

Edited by Ekalb

Are you pressing alt+p?

If so try to install the xlive asi instead of the dsond.( I think thats what its called )

See, i just did it with xliveless, but an error with the script occured. Something with emergency lights? but still cant get it to work.

try to run it without dsound in the file. Just delete it. Then run it. It worked fine for me.

are you running the game as administrator by right clicking the shortcut or the launchGTAIV.exe and clicking run as admin? and just my standard question, this is a legit copy? no pirate

with dsound i had to

A: change the root file security properties

B: Make sure its not read-only

The problem is like stated above: Error in the main script as well as the emergency light script. YES, I followed directions, ran as admin, Changed folder to not just read, Downloaded the dsound, which wont work because it wont even start the game. I type alt+p and LCPDFR does not run. I have re-downloaded this game 3 times already as well as re downloaded the MOD, and still nothing. Yes, i have the recent update for IV, and windows 7. I have a gaming computer (To my standards being in NOT a gamer) , so its not my graphics or procceser of the comp. So, im at a loss right now. Guess it was not meant for me to play.

2012-05-02 01:44:07 - ...found script 'FirstResponse.Main.Start'!

These are the two scripts that have "errors" when the game starts. trouble finding them...

If thats what you call a gaming computer, you've been seriously ripped off buddy.

Processor: Intel i5-6600 @ 3.30GHz

GPU: MSI ARMOR GeForce GTX 1080 OC

Ram: 16GB Skylake

It wasn't. I was just replying to a certain part of your post.

It was also a way of stating it could possibly be the reason why your game cannot run.

EDIT: Could you also post what type of Windows 7 you have? (32bit or 64bit)

If I remember correctly, 32bit uses some more ram, So you could only be getting 2.5GB of ram for IV.

The game runs smoothly even without the mod. I had the mod installed previously, and obv. something went wrong with it. The game's graphics are set to high, and its as perfect as could be. (without the fact that i apparently dont have a 'good' gaming system, they could be much better) but it runs fine. Just cant get the mod to work.

EDIT -- HARPER: Running 32./ How could this effect the mod? I have had it installed 2 weeks ago, then i started using cheats for weapons and thats when it stopped working. Not sure if the cheat thing is relevant though.
