I love it too; they used it in Canberra for the longest time but they've recently gone to some weird futuristic sounding siren.  I've made a Locktronics LTS siren, I'll upload it in a sec.

I hear it's being phased out all 'round unfortunately.

 

Speaking of, I'm trying to do the Rush siren now, it's basically the same except one of the cars uses a different yelp and they have the cool 'wind up' noise at the start. Won't be able to do the wind up because it won't loop but I'll watch through a few episodes over the next few days see if I can't find a decent clip of the different yelp and make that in to something.

I was just gonna start the same project (was gonna try and learn) but ill leave it to you i just have nothing to do

Go for it - I have heaps on the go at once. It's not too hard, just a case of finding a suitable clip to grab the siren from without too much other noise (music, road noise, etc.), putting it in to an audio editing program and then trimming it so that it loops.

Yea trying to find a good videeo now on how to do it but no good videos yet

There are no extremely good siren samples for the LTS siren I can assure you, I have watched every single MFB/CFA video from 2008 onwards.

 

That is the best sample I've heard so I uploaded it, it's from Control Unit 1a I believe.

 

I then found a yelp tone from Water Tanker 43 and I'm going to edit it so the dual tone has more emphasis on the yelp.

 

Eventually I'm going to go to VEMTEC and just ask them for a complete siren sample at an open day lol.

There used to be samples on the LTS website. That's what I used. Not sure if they're still there but they were about 6 years ago. I have the originals somewhere that I'm happy to upload, otherwise feel free to edit the ones I uploaded.

Yea you should find those, FireTrader Aus owns the rights to the LTS siren now I might see if they have any samples.

Have been following this thread for some time now. Some great mods have been released since it started, many thanks to all those who have delivered them!

 

I'm a West Aussie and so have been pretty keen to see some local stuff come out. Unfortunately hasn't been too much so I decided i'd make a few of my own skins (and mod a couple that have been released). Anyway few screens below, very keen to see some more WA stuff when you guys get around to it.

 

Should anyone want any of the skins they see below, PM me. The only skins I have created from scratch (and thus are allowed to release) are as follows:

 

WAPOL Bike (based on real bike but fictional)

DFES Fire Truck (based on real truck but don't think we operate any of these)(this skin needs a fair bit of work but a new model is apparently due and so will wait before I finish it).

WAPOL Hwy Cop w/helmet

 

The other "new" WAPOL liveries are modified from @Damo83 skins.

 

@MooseYTY Any update on the WAPOL Highway Patrol?

Found the samples from the old LTS website before FireTrader bought them. Feel free to do whatever you want with them!

Also having a little bit more luck with the SAPol uniforms. Discovered that one of the UK packs have the badges removed from the default shirts which is pretty cool. Unfortunately it also removes the gun... but either way, I'll work it out!
