new person questions!

Featured Replies

Hello, this mod/mod community is god send. Ive been looking for a police sim kinda thing forever, who would of known it was right under my nose in GTAV. with that being said, following most directions on here I was able to load up LSPDFR along with Traffic Control, PoliceToolBox, Traffic Policer, GTA comes Alive!

setting it up was a challenge but most things work. But I haven't been able to figure out a few things.

-the only callouts I get that I can see, anywhere, are GTA/pursuit/armed pursuit/armed suspect evading arrest. I have Traffic Policer/GTA comes alive but I haven't seen anything. Do I actually need to 'see' it instead of it being a blip on my radar? are there better mods that deal with callouts??

-arresting people on the sidewalk, running plates and ID's all work

-currently, when I put on my lights, a civilian will just pull to the side for a second and then drive off once I am stopped. Like regular GTA V - --- LSPDFR says use left shift whilst behind a person to start a traffic stop....or does this only work IF they are wanted/stolen car/i run their ID/plates and something comes back? so do I need to drive around in first person and run plates to get grabs on ambient events?

-some of the mods claim ambient events, but I don't see them. do I actually need to look for them? will I ever be prompted with, that person is speeding, then a blip appears over them?

-Traffic Policer seems to work and not work - i get no notifications of an improper instillation but I can't access the F6 road management properties and some of the hotkeys just don't seem to work. But I noticed they go with the regular default GTA V hotkeys, like F6 is Switch to Michael or something. any thoughts on this?

-Are there any mods to tidy up pedestrians/ped cars/cops from not like smashing into eachother and making a mess if i call something in? Example, I was attacked by some biker gang, I called swat/another car and they just came barreling in and kinda started their own pile up. basically, is there mods to make the AI ped/cops work better, orderly?

-Some of the hotkeys within LSPDFR dont work, like force shift (space+F9).. the interaction menu is not I it is N, and a couple other things I had to troubleshoot as to where there key was.

All of my stuff is up to date currently so I don't now what makes some things work and other things just half work. Its still fun, I just want to unlock more of these extra options, to roleplay a bit and have more fun! any other mod suggestions I will take too. thanks ill check back periodically if someone needs more info! time to get on duty and figure stuff out XD

When you stop a citizen sometimes they will just move up a bit to try to find a better spot to pull over or you might have accidentally canceled the traffic stop  another thing to try is to get closer to the car and wait till it says you have pulled over this car. For the improper install make sure the plugin files are in the plugin files  for examples the (this is for manual install) the albo and ragenative just drag and drop into the GTA directory and then click on plugins in your GTA directory and your file then the download will say LSPDFR this is the LSPDFR file if you do not have one just drag and drop the file into the plugin file after you do that there is still one more file left the one that is just LSPDFR you want to click it on your download and your directory then click police scanner on both then drag the traffic policer file into the police scanner then then install is done. Also if it is working properly it will come up as a blimp saying someone is speeding etc. Here are some of the mods that will help tidy the ped and police problem:

Also for the hot keys to hitting the Fn key plus the f key or do the Ctrl key plus FN plus the F keys. I hope this helps you.

thank you for the mod suggestions -

the Fn key + ctrl + F keys does not work, or the variations, ctrl+F keys etc.

you mentioned the LSPDFR folder within the plugin folder.....do I need to put the traffic policer dll/ini in there too? i don't follow you when you're talking about the LSPDFR folder, I understand that folder is there, it has the Police Scanner folder in it.

and like I mentioned, NOTHING happens when I pull someone over. they just stop, then when I am bumper to bumper for a few secs, they drive off. there are no windows that tell me what to do, nothing says hold shit. it DOES NOT work. it loaded perfectly, nothing says its wrong, I've done everything right. but it does not work.

if it was uploaded wrong, stuff would crash. just saying, it does not crash. it just does not work. the F key trick you said, does not work.

i do not see any blips apart from the same GTA/pursuit kind of stuff, there are like 3 or 4 basic cycling callouts that are all really dangerous.

so again, i need to take the traffice policer dll/ini and put it INTO the LSPDFR folder INSIDE the plugin folder? tbh your post was confusing.

as i said, the speed checker doesn't even work that goes with all the Traffic Policer stuff, etc. the only thing I can actually really do, is be a cop, ride around, use my lights, and respond to the 4 generic callouts i am getting. thats it, everything else just does not function even though its loaded properly. i re-read the instructions 100000 times, i don't want some mod coming in here or somebody going hurrduuur you didn't read the install instructions. yes i did, or else i wouldn't be playing a 'half' version of whatever this is lol.

If your plugins don't seem to be working, try the troubleshooter:

Also, almost all mods include very clear installation instructions. For the majority of mods, those instructions consist of simply copying and pasting things into your GTA V folder. To install things like Traffic Policer, you shouldn't need to go into the individual folders. Just copy the whole shebang where it tells you to. If you follow the instructions word-for-word, and try running the troubleshooter above, your install should work.

okay the troubleshooter cleared 3 issues, most things are working now - i need to add more mods i think, clean up the peds and actions of others. sometimes when i approach a vehicle with a ton of other vehicles, press E, they all get out of their car lol

PNWParksFan, any good mod suggestions, especially for the roleplay...should I add more callouts? and stuff to handle peds/crazy random car drivers... i had one guy steal a car i was arresting someone from... suggestions?

it seems via the troubleshoot most things in Traffic Policer work, still can't manage the speed meter thing. but everything is working currently out of

LSPDFR/Traffic Policer/Traffic Control/PoliceToolBox --- still need more! thanks for your help gents, look forward to hearing more from you
