No siren & lights on add-on police car

Featured Replies

I recently created a DLC Pack for myself to add car mods to so that I don't have to reinstall every car every time the game gets updated, I've so far added this (gtrchp) and this (silveradost). And they both work fine as a civilian car, but neither one of them have police lights or a siren. I've tried comparing my files to the files that came with this McLaren and Realism Dispatch Enhanced and to me they look fine, they are just like on the mods that I compared them to, but yet the cars don't have any lights or sirens. However, the game seems to recognize that both of the cars are police vehicles since I can access the police computer while inside the car when playing with LSPD:FR. Although, the horn on both of the cars is still a regular car horn instead of the cop horn.

Does anybody have an idea what am I missing here? I've added the GT-R as a regular add-on without the DLC Pack with the exact same settings and it works fine, so clearly there is something wrong with the files or the DLC Pack itself. I've posted the carvar & vehicles.meta lines below for the Silverado in case there is something wrong with them (both of them basically share the same lines, I just changed the names and what not to make it work on the other car). If anybody knows how to fix this, please let me know! I really would like to start using this DLC Pack instead of adding every add-on car to the patchday10 folder

Are the DLC packs on the dlclist.xml in (I think) Update.rpf, common?

@Carrythxd I always make <gameName> the same as the model its following after so in your example mine would be POLICE2. I'm also not sure if using the POLICE2 <audioNameHash> works, to my knowledge only using Sheriff there works.

Just a thought.

I tried to put police, police2, sheriff and sheriff2 into the gameName and audioNameHash but both of them had no effect, no lights or siren on the truck. But thanks for the help though!

I think you have to add this to flags-section in vehicles.meta : FLAG_LAW_ENFORCEMENT FLAG_EMERGENCY_SERVICE

and furthermore define "VC_EMERGENCY" in vehicleClass section.

but I'm not 100% sure about it

I have, they're in the vehicles.meta that I posted above. But thanks for the help though!

@Carrythxd I had some time to mess around with this myself and I was able to get a vehicle added and sirens work on the first try. It might just be something with how you're doing it since you're using the dlc from another pack rather than a fresh dlc.

I followed this guide http://gtaxscripting.blogspot.nl/2015/08/gta-v-pc-add-vehicles-idea-no-replace.html?utm_source=BP_recent and it worked for me. A note that I learned is you don't actually have to use the handling.meta in the pack if you don't have custom handling for the vehicle you're adding. As long as your HandlingID is a vanilla car it will use the vanilla handling lines.

Let me know if that works for you or if you have more trouble, I'd be happy to try adding any of the vehicles you have problems with.

Now that you mentioned using a DLCPack from an already existing mod, I'm pretty sure the issue is caused by that! But at the moment I'm going to be removing my modded GTA V completely in a few days due to the new DLC for the game being released this Tuesday so I won't be trying the method that you posted above until some time next week, but I'll give it a try once I can and I'll let you know if it works or not!

Any luck? I am having the same problem. Other cars I just added work perfectly, the two most recent don't.

Sorry for not responding to this earlier, I completely forgot that I had this topic here :P

I used the DLC Pack template that Vampyre above posted and it has worked perfectly fine, I haven't had a single issue so far related to the lights and sirens that I haven't been able to fix (I have one issue with the pack which I can't seem to figure out how to fix but it's not related to lights or sirens at all) and I've added over 20 vehicles into the pack, all of these being emergency vehicles.

However, I had 2 vehicles that had no lights or sirens in the exact same pack, I fixed them by changing "<audioNameHash>POLICE2</audioNameHash>" to "<audioNameHash>police2</audioNameHash>" in the vehicles.meta line. I'm not exactly sure if the capitalized audioNameHash was the issue but for both of those vehicles, changing the audioNameHash to be non-capitalized fixed the issue. If you're having a similar issue with the lights and sirens, I'd recommend trying that out and seeing if it works

Awesome thanks. Any chance that also fixed issues with changing one light/siren setting on one car, messing up the settings for another car using the same?

I haven't experienced any issues like that so I can't say if it fixes that or not
