NAMCO doesn't ever market it outside of Japan. Though they are doing Korea and China now. Love Live is probably putting some pressure on them.

I tried to watch Idolmaster before Love Live! but I couldn't get into the documentary style that the first episode (or so) was presented as. The girls talking straight to the viewer was very odd and off-putting to me. Love Live! on the other-hand I slipped straight into and absolutely love, haha. I'm pumped for Love Live! Sunshine!!.

Did you watch any others? Ill admit the first one was weird but the rest are actually pretty good. Well its hard to get under my skin and this is one of the few series that has solicited an emotional response out of me. Keep in mind its an anime for fans of an already establish game series though. But it stand by itself really well.

Honestly I can't remember, this was a few years ago now. I'm not that big on idol shows, nor idols for that matter and I think Love Live! caters more to that audience which is probably why I slipped into it. Idolmaster on the other hand seems more like show aimed at idol fans. At-least that's what it felt like when I tried watching it.

That being said, I love all the songs from Love Live! and I like some from Idolmaster too.
