Hey does anyone know of any good freshman level books? I recently got the iBooks app on my iPod touch.

Freshman in high school or college?

Also, there are tens of thousands of titles on the iBookstore, as well as hundreds of thousands on others (like Kindle store), as well as literally millions that are old enough to be public domain.

You need to give a better idea of what you're looking for so we can narrow it down. Fiction, nonfiction? What genre?

I'm reading Metro 2033 through school (I don't get much time to read, so I'm only on like page 120. The translation errors make it a challenging book to read, and it's interesting.

Officer Down by Theresa Schwegel is an excellent book. Good story, good feel.

Just bought it, hope you're right about it. Read the sample and it seems awesome.

I don't know if this would interest you or not, but take a look at Shogun. It's an older book, and the setting is in early 1800's Japan from the eyes of a European ship pilot. The book also closely follows the actual events that were taking place in Japan at that time.

My name is Brian O'Toole. I wanted to fight the war on terror, but I don't read so good. Most careers where close to me, that's why I joined the LCPD.

Sorry if this counts as thread jacking, but are there any good firefighter books out there, (specifically FDNY) which are preferrably 300+ pages?

It's not FDNY and it's about 259 pages long, but Working Fire is a really good firefighter autobiography. It's by Zac Unger, an Oakland firefighter.

Thanks, I'll see if I can pick it up.
