Ability to modify the AI officer loadouts?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

I've been tinkering around with the loadouts.meta file with intention to release a "unarmed cops" mod for those looking to get a UK-type experience.  I was able to get the normal cops to use batons and tasers when chasing you, but inside LSPDFR all of the cops are always armed, no matter what it says in the loadouts.meta file. I tried to add a weapons thing (like it is in the "custom backup" mod config file) to the backup.xml file of LSPDFR, but they still show up with pistols when I call for backup.

Would it be possible to make LSPDFR listen to the loadouts file in the next (or later) update? It's frustrating to try and play with brit cops, just to see them go full 'MURICA on my suspects.

Thank you for reading my idea and have a nice day!

You could have a look at those to see if they help you work out what you want with your files or if they do what you want even.

Also "Agency callouts" i believe allows you to set a loadout (predefined by the mod author) based on the department you want to play as. So its def possible in that kind of mod. Id be interested in what you come up with though.

Mine is pretty much these two mods you linked, combined together. They also only affect the non-lspdfr AI cops.

What you said about agency callouts, It seems like it only affects the player. The point is that the AI cop loadouts spawned by lspdfr should be customizable.

There's a mod here called Better Backup/ Advanced Backup/Added Backup or something like that, it's by PNWParksFan. Not only does it let you customize weapon loadouts but you can change peds, cars, response areas specifically (as in Vinewood Hills gets you Vehicle A but next door in Rockford Hills you get Vehicle B) and set the way Code 2 Backup responds- lights off, lights on, or lights turned on at scene. It's really cool and allows for more customized backup (Oh yeah, that's the name, Custom Backup) although it requires a bit of patience at the beginning when you set stuff up. I have a Watch_Dogs police response setup because I personally prefer Watch_Dogs's police weapons choices over GTA V's and I'm sure it's not too hard to set up a British- themed one.

^See above because apparently I suck at Multi- quoting. It just doesn't work for me.

I'm not gonna bother doing any quoting on this one.

The custom backup mod should work as a temporary workaround at least. I tried it, but failed to get it to work on my PC.

Still, I'd love the lspdfr mod to not decide the loadouts on its own so there wouldn't be need for complicated mods, as they can be too difficult for average users.

My custom backup mod does let you change the default weapon and the probability and options for additional weapons. However, when the LSPDFR API detects a fight, it'll sometimes take over the peds and change their weapons, even giving them weapons they didn't originally have. Unfortunately there's no way I know of to modify that behavior, it's hard coded into LSPDFR.
