How do i make part of a models texture transparent?

Featured Replies

I have a ped that i want to re-texture, but i dont want the drop leg holster that is on it.
I thought saving the relevant textures as a transparent png would work to make it invisible, as i had seen an modded agent ped with the transparent id badge so it didn't show in game. (i cant find it again else id see what they had done)

The result of trying a transparent texture was a shiny black texture, not a transparent one.

Am i missing a trick here?

The holster may be an actual part of the model, and you might or might not be able to remove it by enabling/disabling the ped's components. Which ped model is it?

Its the blackops01 ped. In the openIV window i can check and uncheck the holster so it seems to be textured independantly which is why i thought i could put transparent textures in place. In the window it is invisible but Ingame it always spawns with it, hence the want to make it go byby.

also, how do i enable/disable ped components?
