I'm using a personalized relationships file that makes cops dislike civilians and hate gang members, and vice versa. Would this be the reason for there being frequent shootouts/hostilities between npc cops and civilians when using LSPDFR? Curious because it doesn't seem to happen so much without the mod. Also, is it the base LSPDFR mod that adds large amounts of npc police vehicles in traffic throughout the city? For what it's worth, I'm also using Assorted Callouts and Secondary Callouts.

 

LSPDFR is designed to work on a stock version of the game, not one that's been modified in the data files like this. Any odd behavior can be put down to this.

To answer your questions though LSPDFR makes use of every police unit spawned in the game where it needs to, regardless of what spawned it I believe. I'm not 100% certain if it produces ambient units, I know it does for the police station, but I'm not sure for roads in general. It may do, but I can't remember.

Also useful to know that GTA V makes everything revolve around the player character. This is why if you respond to the callout for the armed suspects in pursuit, traffic and peds will go crazy next to you (which makes no sense when your 10+ city blocks away from the pursuit). Gang units and such react to the player character as well with abuse and/or physical attacks. This is why responding to any kind of shootout in the gang heavy areas results in a firefight because 1 single shot from your gun triggers the gang events regardless.

 

I would try running LSPDFR on a stock copy of GTA V (no relationship mods) and see if it still happens.

I'll likely use a vanilla relationships file when playing with the mod. These shootouts occur even without responding to a callout (as in, I was just testing some code 3 backup calls, and the arriving cops would be quick to start fights with nearby drivers and civilians). Fun stuff, but can get a bit annoying lol.

BTW, I've noticed that the mod has some rather interesting features like adjusting the number of peds that spawn in a vehicle, as well as being able to randomize their props (so that sheriffs can wear hats) and have female cops spawn alongside male cops in vehicles. Are these things that can be implemented in the base game, or do we have to wait for .ymt editing to do so? Been trying to get modded FIB Washingtons to spawn with 4 agents in my base game dispatch file, with no luck.

I wouldn't know what can and can't be done with file editing. My forte is plugins. Data file mods are amongst the many things that don't really interest me I'm afraid.
