How do i create my own police car skin/model?

Featured Replies

Hey i was wondering how i can make my own police car skin/model for people to download.

I am using a mac but i may get a PC this summer.

So as you know since i only have a mac i can not play GTA5 and there for can not use LCPDFR.

So instead i want to help out by making new police car skins for the community and so on.

Please help me out!

Thanks,

You can install Windows on a Mac, FYI. Look into Bootcamp

Modeling is pretty difficult, but making textures is easy enough. If the download includes a template, you can just directly start editing that. If it doesn't, you'll have to export a texture from the YTD file. Install the model using OpenIV, then look in the YTD file for the texture you want to edit. Then you just go ahead and edit it. I often use Paint.NET, but you can use any image editor like Gimp, Photoshop, or maybe something like Macpaint.

I wouldnt reccomend modeling unless you have had prior experinece and or a class teaching on how to 3d model. Ive had a class on model but even still i prefer to take exsisting models to tweak instead making them from scratch. AS for skins i recommend you keep the orginal skins in a folder and save your reskin out as something different. like when u pull files it will be like policenew_sign_1.png or something sililar so save that as is then edit and save as like policenew_sign_1-2.png or what ever you want. also i reccomend testing it before posting it. i always modify my own game first then see how the car looks before releasing.

thats one of mine u can see how im still tweeking to make it better all the screens and videos are done in my game before i release. gimp is free and pretty decent but since im an amateur photographer i have photoshop which just gives a bit more tools to to work with. feel free to message me if you more questions i might not know mac specfic programs but i can give you some pointers on what tools to use where and that sort of thing
