Lag after 10-15 minutes of gameplay

Featured Replies

I play GTA 5 with anywhere between 60 - 80 fps. But after a while of gameplay, I seem to get a lot of frame drops.
I don't know what to do about this really...

SPECS:

Intel Core i7-2600
Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 (slightly overclocked...)

I've turned down all the settings to Normal, and updated drivers, and looked on Google, nothing worked. I hope some of you guys may be able to help me out!

Do you have a program like CPUID HWMonitor to check the temperature of your components? Overheating can lead into the GPU bottlenecking itself to prevent damage.

I watched it for an hour or so, the lag did happen but my GPU & CPU were on 70 degrees Celcius, and everything else didn't even really bother....

I think this isn't whats wrong with my game....

EDIT: Forgot to mention this, when I restart GTA 5 everything is back to normal again!

Turn V-Sync off and Back on sometimes fixes the issue

Doesn't seem to fix it.

Memory leak issues are still a thing, too. Check your RAM usage when your game starts stuttering. If your whole RAM is used, time to reboot the game. Sadly there's no other fix as a memory leak issue is often hard-coded into the game. More than 723 people posted on the official Rockstar support forums to say they had a similar problem, but we got no official answer as of yet.

My RAM goes up to 90% but doesn't get any higher than that when it's lagging.

Could it be anything else?
