Make vehicles black

Featured Replies

I've downloaded a couple of unmarked european cars, but when they spawn for AI they're always white. To change the color I need to use the trainer menu, but ofc for the AI this is impossible. Is there a value I can change somewhere in OpenIV to make those vehicles spawn black as default instead?

I don't know for sure, but I believe in update\update.rpf\common\data\ai there should be a file called: 'carcols.ini' or .xml, or probably .meta, if there is, then it should be the same as the GTA IV system.

Nevermind, can't find it. I'd reccomend looking around the update.rpf area anyways though. actually, also, did you replace the unmarked vehicles in regular vehicle slots, such as sheriff1/2 and police1/2/3?

if you can change the color back with a trainer then there must be something wrong with the file that controls vehicle colors. although, I'm sorry to say, I don't know what file that is. It will most likely be in update.rpf though, so I'd start checking there.

I checked that by removing the list in carvariations.meta regarding police4 the colors appear ingame. But the problem is I need the lines in carvariations to make the vehicle's lights work ingame, This is how it looks

I haven't tried changing the colors cars spawn in yet but I figure it has something to do with the 134 and 156 values.

How come does an unmarked car use sirensetting 13 though?

I don't event know what does that mean lol. It's police4 file, I just copied their carvariations.meta list.

Should I start trying to change the 134 and 156 values? I don't know how to start, I don't even know what those numbers mean

There's a vehicle colors index available on GTA5-mods.com; according to that, 134 is pure white, and 156 is default alloy.
Changing those values should make cars spawn in different colors. For example, if you change 134 to 154, your car should spawn tan

Sirensetting is a value that changes how lightbars act, since different vanilla lightbars behave differently. Unmarked cars don't have lightbars so I naturally assumed they all use the same one. Sirensetting value 13 is however the standard for marked Stanier police cruisers.

Thanks man I'll give it a try tomorrow

The car I'm referring to is https://it.gta5-mods.com/vehicles/unmarked-bmw-m5-with-siren-and-blue-leds
