The latest updated version of RAGE Plugin Hook, required to play LSPDFR, can be found inside the LSPDFR download. It is not currently available on the RAGE Plugin Hook website.

GTAV/LSPDFR crashing to desktop at plugin loading screen

Hello all,

I've run into an issue today with either GTAV and/or LSPDFR caushing a crash to the desktop during the plugin loading screen. All of the plugins load fine but right where I would normally get the police radio audio clip and the game would load the music suddenly stops and everything crashes to the desktop. I then get the Rockstar screen saying there was an issue with the game and it needed to close and it gives me the option to open the game in safe mode or retry. The same issue occurred in safe mode. I'm not sure if this is a GTAV or an LSPDFR issue; the only thing I've done to the game since the last time I played was to load Smaen's Coroner Van. I uninstalled it after the first issue to see if that was the problem but I ran into the same crash. I've attached my Rage log below (which does show some errors) but I'm not sure how to interpret it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Check any files that were edited when installing a new vehicle model, like carvariations.meta or vehicles,meta

It might have an extraneous <item> or perhaps not have a closing </item>.

Ah'm orderin' you to STAHP!

It is likely that you made an error while editing the meta files. Even if you mess up one line, it will mess up the whole game and make you crash to the desktop. So you need to reinstall the meta files from your backup folder.

When I uninstalled the Coroner van I replaced the modified files with my backups but I still ran into the issue. I wonder if one of my backups is bad...

I don't think there is an issue with your backup files, UNLESS you backed up the modified files instead of the default files...

Ok, so update. With the release of .3 I decided to cut my losses and start fresh. I got the newest version of LSPDFR and Ragehook installed (and nothing else at the moment) but it's still crashing at the Ragehook load screen just as it gets to the "loading LSPDFR First Response" plugin. There appears to be an issue with the LMS.Common.dll file but I don't know if that's the primary culprit or how to fix it.

Restarting steam hasn't worked.

I can play GTA5 fine without the plugins, the crash only happens when I load LSPDFR via Ragehook. Everything loads fine right up until it gets to the the LSPDFR plugin and as soon as it says it loaded that one the game crashes to the desktop and I get the Rockstar screen about Retrying or Restarting in Safe Mode.

Remove LoadPlugin LSPD First Response.dll from startup.rphs and type same command in once game loads.

That seems to have worked. I'll keep playing around with it; I'm not sure what the root cause of the crashing is, hopefully a later update to Rage will fix the issue permanently.
